‘Guardians Of The Galaxy 2’ Villain Spoiled By Bradley Cooper? Plus Vin Diesel Wants More Dancing For Groot

Despite recent comments made by Guardians Of The Galaxy star Bradley Cooper, it turns out that a major plot point may have not been leaked about the upcoming sequel. According to Irish Examiner, director James Gunn has confirmed that the main storyline and plot secrets concerning Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 are still safe.

“In response to all the stories coming out, Bradley Cooper didn’t reveal anything. He just got the script and hasn’t read it yet. I promise,” the director posted on Twitter. “That has not been revealed and Bradley doesn’t know the main villain (or didn’t at the time of the interview).”

Cooper’s comments were made in a recent interview to promote his newest film, Burnt. In response to a question concerning his role in the new Guardians Of The Galaxy film, Cooper accidentally stated that Thanos (Josh Brolin) is set to be the main villain in the movie.

“But Josh [Brolin]’s the villain, right? Or he’s the main villain, no? He was in the first one. He played what’s his name’s dad … Dark Lord, the main guy,” Cooper, who voices the character Rocket Raccoon, stated.

“Oops… you just leaked a Marvel script, Bradley,” Sienna Miller, Cooper’s Burnt co-star, chimed in.

At this point, producers have yet to reveal who the main villain will be in the highly anticipated sequel, so it very well could turn out to be Thanos. That being said, Gunn’s comments seem to indicate that the villain will be someone else entirely, though fans will likely have to wait until we’re closer to the release date to find out for sure.

Meanwhile, although Gunn stated that Cooper had not seen the script prior to his recent interview, some of the cast members have already read the script for Guardians Of The Galaxy 2. This includes Vin Diesel, who, according to Huffington Post, was one of only ten people to first read the script.

With that in mind, Diesel recently discussed his reactions to the script on a video posted to his Facebook account. In the video, Diesel talked about how much he liked the storyline for the upcoming movie, and praised Gunn for his terrific writing skills.

“James Gunn is such a great writer. I read this script and I go, ‘You’re a great director, and you’re this good [of] a writer too.’ No wonder Marvel is so excited about what you’re doing. No wonder Marvel can’t wait to see Guardians of the Galaxy 2, he shared. “Yeah, it’s one of those page-turners. You cannot put the script down.”

This is certainly exciting news for fans, especially considering how little is known about the plot of the sequel. At the same time, Diesel did let fans in on a little secret about the script, which, of course, has something to do with dancing.

In fact, Diesel went on to reveal that fans will get to see even more dancing from Groot in the new film. Even more, when Diesel was given the new script, he also received a CD that was titled, “Awesome Mix Vol. 2.” As fans will likely recall, the first movie featured a similar mix tape that actually played an important role for Peter (Chris Pratt).

“It’s ironic, because dancing is such a big part of this Guardians of the Galaxy script,” the actor stated.

With Groot’s dancing being one of the hit aspects of the first film, fans are sure to be glad to know that the sequel will feature even more dancing from the character.

Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 is scheduled to hit theaters everywhere on May 5, 2017.
