Joey Feek Of Joey And Rory Says Prayers Have Been Answered, Just Not The Answer They Had Hoped For
Joey Feek of the country music duo Joey + Rory is “at peace” with the decision to spend her remaining days under hospice care with her family. Joey has been battling cervical cancer and treatments are failing. Therefore, Joey has made the heartbreaking decision to stop medical treatments and spend the rest of her time with her daughter Indiana at home in Tennessee. The latest photos uploaded to the Joey + Rory social media pages so the country singer looking frail, her beautiful brunette locks chopped off, as she holds her daughter in her lap. Despite her pain, the Feeks say it is “all about love” and Joey wants to spend all the time she has left with her and says she is “at peace” with where she is going.
USA Today reports that Joey Feek is slowly ending her battle against cancer. Joey’s husband Rory held a prayer vigil on Thursday night for his wife asking fans and friends to pray for Joey’s health at 8:00 p.m. and for answers regarding her battle with cervical cancer. Joey says that the prayers were answered, only they weren’t answered in the way that the family had hoped.
On Friday morning at 4:00 a.m., Rory says he rushed Joey to the hospital after she began to have severe pain. The Feeks learned that the tumors were growing and causing extreme pain in Joey’s abdomen. The doctors gave the news that Joey and Rory had been dreading, it was time to make Joey comfortable as there is nothing left for the medical community to do for her cancer.

Rory says in the Feek’s blog, This Life I Live, that God did answer their prayers. It just wasn’t the answer they had hoped for when they began the prayer vigil.
“At 4 a.m. on Friday morning we rushed Joey to the hospital in Muncie, (Ind.). Her pain had become too much to (handle). A few hours later, the doctors told us that the pain was from the cancer tumors continuing to grow and become inflamed and we need to concentrate now on helping her be comfortable. Not the answer we hoped for … but the answer He has given us.”
Rory says that they will focus on making Joey comfortable for the remainder of her days which she plans to live out with their young daughter named Indiana in her Tennessee home. Rory says that prayers were answered as Joey is “at peace with where she is going” and claims that he is as well.
“Joey is at peace with where she is and where she’s going. So am I. An answer to prayer.”
Despite the heartbreaking news, the Feek family seems in good spirits with Rory posting photos of Joey with their daughter. Joey can be seen sitting in a hospital bed as their daughter lays in her lap. Rory says that Joey is spending her time with Indiana reading, laughing, and singing hymns.
Rory shared photos of Joey recording storybooks for Indiana that fans have sent. Rory says that “Joey’s hope is that our little one will be able to sit on my lap in days to come and turn pages and hear her mama reading to her.” Rory says that hospice care has arranged for a hospital bed to be placed in the home next to Indiana’s play area so that the two will be able to see each other at all times. Rory says that Joey wants to be able to just sit and watch her play.
