‘Fallout 4’s’ Codsworth Won’t Be Saying ‘Breaking Bad’s’ Heisenberg Name In The Game
Fallout 4’s Codsworth was mentioned by Bethesda’s Todd Howard at QuakeCon of having to know around 1,000 names. The robot butler was put to work by GamesRadar in an attempt to have him recite names entered in by the user for Fallout. Apparently, the nomenclatures that Codsworth did not know were replaced with a generic “Sir” or “Mum.”
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, there are at minimum 151,671 last names, and 5,163 first name as commonly used in the United States. To explain this, one could speculate that after the nuclear bombs hit in Fallout 4, a lot of those names could have been wiped out of existence? In Fallout 4, for those who do have a name the ones that do work in Fallout, Games Radar reports, in alphabetical order, so far 121 names and counting.

Polygon tested only 100 names, while GameRanx confirmed 133 names that worked in Fallout 4.
There had been also a few explicit names as well. Interestingly enough, when multiple names like a first and last name was entered into the Fallout 4 character field, only part of the name was said. For instance, Polygon tried Liam Neeson, but Codsworth only said Liam.
The voice of Codsworth and other Mister Handy Robots is played by Stephen Russell in the previous Fallout.
Codsworth is found during the era prior to the bombs falling in Fallout 4 and then afterwards upon the protagonists encounter with him 200 years later. The robot butler then jokingly makes a remark about how he’s “Two centuries late for dinner!” He then turns to get a snack, but chances are in the world of Fallout, all the food is likely irradiated.
Fallout 4 releases tomorrow, November 10, and is currently being reviewed by many media outlets online along with live gaming feeds. Fallout 4 is of the post-apocalyptic gaming genre and known for its open world gaming experience.
