WWE News: ‘Monday Night Raw’ Preview For November 9, 2015

Normally, WWE will post a “Five-Point Preview” for Monday Night Raw very early on the morning of the show. It highlights five different stories in the WWE world that will get some attention on Raw. But with the recent news that WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins had injured his leg and would have to forfeit the title — and a tournament being held at Survivor Series to determine a new champ — all stories have gone out the window. For tonight’s show from Manchester, England, they have no preview posted at the site.

Could WWE Creative still be scrambling so much to figure out their next move that they still don’t have it together enough (with less than four hours before WWE Monday Night Raw goes live in Manchester — to be aired hours later in the United States) to give us any clue as to what’s in store?

On the WWE Network, there is a weekly program called This Week in WWE. Usually released on Saturdays, it’s also a good indication of what direction WWE Creative will be headed in for Monday Night Raw. This week’s episode of This Week highlighted Seth Rollins’ injury and the subsequent tournament, Paige earning a WWE Divas Championship match against champion Charlotte at Survivor Series, the return of the Usos, and the most recent developments in the Bray Wyatt/Undertaker feud. A Monday Night Raw preview put together by Sportskeeda highlights essentially the same stories.

Seth Rollins and the WWE World Heavyweight Championship tournament. When This Week in WWE host Scott Stanford talked about Seth Rollins’ injury and the Survivor Series tournament, there was a heavy emphasis on the fact that Roman Reigns had already earned the No. 1 contender spot before Rollins went down in Ireland. No doubt Reigns will be a focal point of Raw tonight, as he will certainly be considered the favorite to win the tournament. The only other information they gave us was that further details would come through WWE.com and Monday Night Raw.

Two questions — probably with the same answers — need to be addressed. First, who will be a part of the tournament at Survivor Series to determine the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion? And with multiple main event stars currently out with injury, who will WWE bring in to fill the void?

When WWE posted an announcement about the tournament at Survivor Series, they gave virtually no information. Tonight, will we finally learn how many participants will be in the tournament? More importantly, will we find out who those participants are? Randy Orton is out. Daniel Bryan and Sting are both out with injuries, but there has been speculation about a return by either for Survivor Series. At first, it was thought either or both could end up being the tag partners of Kane and Undertaker. But could WWE use either of these stars’ returns to help spice up the tournament?

There has also been talk of bringing back John Cena, who is out for an unexplained, non-injury reason. He was originally slated to return December 26 at Madison Square Garden. Then it was rumored he would return early at WWE TLC. Now, with Rollins out, Cena could be brought in to help fill the void and go after the title. And, of course, as Cage Side Seats noted, WWE could always bring back Brock Lesnar.

With viable options on the roster like Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, The Big Show, Cesaro, Sheamus, Kevin Owens, Alberto Del Rio, and Neville, the tournament could fill out quite nicely.

Bray Wyatt and the Undertaker. One story that appears to be unaffected by the Rollins injury is the supernatural feud between Bray Wyatt’s Wyatt Family and the Brothers of Destruction, Undertaker and Kane. Bray claimed that he has “harnessed the power of the souls” of Undertaker and Kane. He also summoned lightning and fire inside the arena. It only seems logical that the Wyatt Family will face off against Undertaker and Kane at Survivor Series. Will the match be made official tonight? Will we see the return of the Undertaker or Kane? Will anyone try to stop the Wyatt Family?

The Usos and the WWE Tag Team Championship. The recent return of The Usos was also highlighted on This Week in WWE, and it was mentioned several times that they want the WWE Tag Team Championship. It seems logical that they could get a title shot at Survivor Series, and even if the match isn’t made official tonight, the ball will likely get rolling in that direction on Raw.

Paige, Charlotte and the WWE Divas Championship. Finally, This Week showed the end of last week’s Fatal Fourway match in which Paige earned a shot at Charlotte’s WWE Divas Championship at Survivor Series. With the title match already set, what developments will take place tonight? With WWE reportedly looking to bring in “big names” to help with ratings, could we see Ric Flair again?

This week’s episode of WWE Monday Night Raw will be recorded live in Manchester, England, at the Manchester Arena. The event starts at 7 p.m. local time (2 p.m. EST) and will air in the United States at 8 p.m. EST on the USA Network.
