Larry Hernandez: First Performance Since Being Released From Jail

Larry Hernández has made his return to the stage this past week in Los Angeles. Mexican singer Hernández has made his first public appearance since being released on bail from a South Carolina prison after he faced charges of kidnap and assault, as reported by Fox News Latino.

Larry performed at Premios de la Radio 2015, where he had been nominated for two awards, “Artista Masculino del Año” and “Los Más Pegados De Las Redes Sociales.” This was the first public appearance that Hernández has made since posting bail and being released from prison. Larry was scheduled to perform at the award show, but surprised his fans when he performed two times at the event, according to Latin Times.

Hernández used the awards ceremony to debut a new song for the crowd called “Mama.” As indicated by the title, Hernández dedicated the song to his mother. In what made for a very sappy, emotional moment, Larry sang the song to his mother to thank her for how she supported him while he went through those tough times.

“During these trials in my life there have been two women who supported me – one is the mother of my daughters and the other is my mother. I love you so much, mom. Thanks to you I am who I am. Thanks to everyone for your support at this stage of my life.”

The awards show was held in Los Angeles, California, at the Dolby Theater. According to Latin Times, Hernández had confirmed that he would be attending Premios de la Radio 2015 via Instagram after there was some debate as to whether or not he would be able to make an appearance there.

“You have no idea how excited I am to confirm my participation in #premiosdelaradio2015. Going back to this platform that I have always counted on since the beginning of my career, I have been blessed to be invited. But this year will be very special without a doubt. Thank you to all my fans for voting for me. And thank you God, without him this would not be possible and thank you all for your love and comprehension.”

Larry was very thankful for his fans who have stood behind him during this hard time in his life.

Hernández was arrested in September, as reported by the Inquisitr, after he was accused of kidnapping and assaulting a concert promoter after a concert that Hernández had performed at. The assault took place in August in Newberry, South Carolina. Allegedly, Larry grew angry with the concert promoter when he was not given the same amount of money that he had been promised. Hernández and an associate kidnapped the concert promoter, wrapped him in clear plastic wrap, and beat the man. When the victim was able to get away, he went directly to the Newberry Police Department and filed a complaint against Hernández.

When Larry boarded a plane from Denver, Colorado, to Ontario, California, in September, the Los Angeles police were notified and the singer was detained in the airport. Hernández had a fugitive warrant out for his arrest, therefore he was held without bail.

Shortly after that, Hernández went before a California judge to be voluntarily extradited to South Carolina to face the charges set against him. In October, Larry was transferred from a California prison to a South Carolina facility and stood before a judge. Hernández posted a bail of $200,000, and was released from prison. Larry is allowed to return to California, but he is required to forfeit his passport. Hernández will stand before a judge in December.
