‘The Big Bang Theory’ Spoilers: What Happens When Sheldon Tries To Date A Model?

Will The Big Bang Theory viewers really get to find out what happens when Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons) attempts to go on a date with a girl who isn’t Amy Farrah Fowler (Mayim Bialik)? If you don’t want to know what happens in this week’s episode, “The Mystery Date Observation,” then quit reading right now — major “Shamy” spoilers are ahead.

During the Thursday, November 12, episode of The Big Bang Theory, Sheldon will meet a potential mate when he’s set up with a mystery date. According to Cinemablend, Sheldon’s love interest might be recognizable to many viewers — the very brave Vanessa is being played by America’s Next Top Model star Analeigh Tipton. Some fans will also remember Tipton from the zombie romance Warm Bodies and the short-lived ABC rom-com Manhattan Love Story.

Analeigh Tipton is currently only set to star in one episode of The Big Bang Theory, so this doesn’t bode well for her future with Sheldon. You can see her meeting Sheldon for the first time in “The Mystery Date Observation” promo below.

Interestingly, TVline reports that this isn’t the first time that Analeigh Tipton has appeared on The Big Bang Theory — she actually played herself (or a version of herself) in a 2008 episode titled “The Panty Piñata Polarization.” After Penny (Kaley Cuoco) got Raj (Kunal Nayyar) and Howard (Simon Helberg) got hooked on the America’s Next Top Model reality show, they decided to use their scientist skills to figure out the location of the mansion where the model competitors were staying. The guys actually managed to sneak their way into the house by posing as cable repairmen, even though Analeigh informed them that the house had satellite.

Sheldon probably won’t realize that his mystery date resembles an America’s Next Top Model contestant because he was predictably uninterested in the show back when his buddies started watching it. He also won’t get a good look at his date because he’ll immediately slam the door in her face.

According to the International Business Times, Sheldon will ask Raj and Howard to help him find a suitable girlfriend. To do this, the guys create a scavenger hunt challenge for any women who are actually willing to put that much effort into scoring a date with Sheldon. If any of the women successfully complete the scavenger hunt before a set time, their prize will be Sheldon’s contact information. Only one woman, Analeigh Tipton’s Vanessa, will successfully complete the challenge, but there’s a problem — she doesn’t meet the 10 p.m. deadline set by Howard and Raj. So instead of going on a date with Sheldon, she gets a door slammed in her face.

During last week’s episode of The Big Bang Theory, Sheldon’s behavior hinted that he was nowhere close to being over Amy. During the filming of Adam Nimoy’s “Spockumentary,” he failed miserably at maintaining his Vulcan-like composure after the topic of his engagement ring came up. After breaking down, he decided that the best way to move on would be to actually propose to Amy. Unfortunately, Sheldon couldn’t follow through with his plan to save “Shamy” because he saw Amy kissing another man (Stephen Merchant).

Luckily for “Shamy” fans, Sheldon’s lack of interest in a girl who can’t complete a scavenger hunt fast enough won’t be the only ray of hope for “Shamy” fans in this week’s episode of The Big Bang Theory. Unfortunately, that ray of hope will likely make Amy miserable — she’ll find out that her new love interest is actually just a huge Sheldon fanboy who only wants to talk about the theoretical physicist’s work. Amy decides to end things after she discovers his disturbing Sheldon obsession, but her jilted lover sees a creepy silver lining — he’s just happy that he got to make out with someone who kissed Dr. Sheldon Cooper.

So in this week’s episode of The Big Bang Theory, everyone loves Sheldon while poor Amy can’t catch a break. If she starts getting really desperate for companionship, Amy could also give Stuart (Kevin Sussman) or Kripke (John Ross Bowie) a chance — they did both express an interest in taking her out in “The Perspiration Implementation.” At the very least, Amy could enjoy being in the company of a guy who actually wants to spend time with her. Then again, she would have to wonder whether Kripke was just going out with her to get under Sheldon’s skin.

The Big Bang Theory airs Thursday at 8 p.m. ET on CBS. How much longer do you think the show will keep “Shamy” apart?
