New ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ TV Spot Reveals More Plotline Details

Fans were treated to a new Star Wars: The Force Awakens TV spot, a couple of days after an international trailer hit the Internet, and it reveals even more plotline details.

Those following the Disney production closely couldn’t be more excited to keep getting more and more footage of the massively awaited Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie coming next December 18 (almost a month away!). Director J.J. Abrams has kept the plotline under tight security and as we understand it, not even the actors involved were allowed to take the script home. Abrams reportedly used red paper to prevent script leaks — copies would be illegible.

In light of this, getting a new Star Wars: The Force Awakens TV spot a couple of days after a new international trailer, which had a lot of new details and some never-before-seen scenes is indeed a treat for eager fans who cannot wait for the big day to arrive. As expected, just shy of a month of the big release, Disney is in an all out PR campaign to bring in a new generation of fans.

Adding to the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens TV spot, we saw the final trailer and first five character posters released this past week. Even though the recently released footage sheds some more light about the plotline, there are still mysteries that fans will need to wait to unravel.

One of the biggest questions, still, is why Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) is missing from the previously released footage and promotional posters. This has resulted in continued speculation about what has happened to the legendary Star Wars character.

The new Star Wars: The Force Awakens TV spot is 30-seconds in duration and even though it’s short, it has new footage involving the main heroine, Rey (Daisy Ridley) and original Star Wars character Han Solo (Harrison Ford). This is intriguing considering the teaser’s title is “Every Generation Has A Story.”

It is widely speculated — and we will only know once the blockbuster finally lands in theaters — that Rey (whose name has been kept secret by Abrams to protect her identity — is the daughter of Han and Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher), who is also one of the original characters. Rey lives in Jakku, where she is a scavenger and at some point comes across, Finn (John Boyega) — whose identity is also a mystery.

In the Star Wars: The Force Awakens international trailer we see the moment when Rey and Finn meet and introduce each other. We also know that Finn has left the Stormtroopers ranks and is being sought by The First Order villains Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie) and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver). This brings complete mayhem to Rey’s home and the new friends run into Han Solo, who is back with his loyal protector Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew).

It is still not clear how the original Star Wars characters are related to the newcomers and how this affects their destinies. However, it was revealed that Rey and Finn’s encounter changes their lives forever. Han explain that the legendary Jedis, The Force, and the Dark Side are all real, as the battle rages nearby.

Another interesting revelation in the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens TV spot is an unidentified character — which is believed to be Maz Kanata (Lupita Nyong’o) — says, she has “lived long enough to see the same eyes in different people…I see your eyes…I know your eyes,” according to Screen Rant. Since the words are uttered while Rey is on the screen, most believe the line refers to her.

We will have to wait and see what, all we see in the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens TV spot means, when the film opens in theaters next December 18. Are you ready?
