Watch Mexico Vs. Belgium Football Live Online: FIFA U-17 World Cup Third Place Game Streaming Video

Fans can watch the Mexico vs. Belgium football game live online and see which team can win its way to third place in the FIFA U-17 World Cup.

Both teams come into the match after disappointing finishes in the semifinal round, with Mexico falling 4-2 in a thriller against Nigeria and Belgium falling to Mali 3-1. While the all-Africa final looks to be a thrilling matchup, the third-place game between Mexico and Belgium should be exciting as well.

The teams will meet Sunday at 2 p.m. local time from Estadio Sausalito in Vina Del Mar, Chile.

Mexico looked to control the early part of its semifinal contest, with Kevin Magana opening the scoring. Nigeria seized the lead before Diego Cortes scored to even the contest, but Osinachi Ebere and Victor Osimhen scored to put Nigeria up for good.

As FIFA noted, it was a disappointment for Mexico which seemed to have all the momentum in the early part of the contest.

“Mexico controlled the ball in the opening stages of the match, and took the lead early on. Kevin Lara beat his man on the Mexican right and delivered a teasing cross into the middle. Aguirre tried to control with his chest, but Magana took charge and fired home.”

“Emmanuel Amuneke’s side began to grow into the game, with Kelechi Nwakali hitting a low drive from the edge of the Mexican penalty area with his venomous drive stinging the palms of Romero before the ball was cleared away.”

Belgium wasn’t quite as close in its contest against Mali, which controlled the tempo of the match after erasing an early deficit.

Afterwards, Belgium’s coach, Bob Broweays, said there wasn’t much more his team could do against such a strong opponent.

“I want to congratulate Mali for this victory,” he said (via FIFA). “This is a very good team and I wish them all the best for the final. Belgium played a very good game and I am proud of my boys. We started the match well and the first half was balanced. What happened in the second half happens in football. I am very pleased with the progress of my players for this tournament.”

Fans who watch the Mexico vs. Belgium football match live online will see if both teams can get past their FIFA World Cup disappointment to grab some consolation for the younger players. In last year’s FIFA World Cup, Belgium was eliminated by Argentina in the round of eight, while Mexico fell to eventual finalist Argentina in the round of 16.

The third place game will be a matchup of two teams with very different history in the tournament. Mexico has been to this stage of the FIFA U-17 World Cup a number of times before, winning the tournament two times and reaching the finals two years ago.

The Belgians are making just their second appearance in the tournament, however, and advanced to the semifinal despite not winning their group. The team qualified for the knockout stage as one of the top third-place teams in the tournament.

It would be a bonus for Belgium to end the tournament in the top three, and could help the young program build momentum for the future.

It looks to be shaping up as a great contest, and for football fans outside of Mexico and Belgium a good warm-up to the all-Africa final between Nigeria and Mali and a full day of football action.
