Nicki Minaj Not Interested In Working With Lil’ Kim, Sources Say Collaboration ‘Will Never Happen’

Nicki Minaj and Lil’ Kim’s longstanding feud may have escalated last year after Minaj declared herself the “queen of rap” on Beyoncé’s “Flawless” remix, but are Nicki and Lil’ Kim ready to settle their differences in the hopes of producing an epic rap collaboration?

Rumors of a Nicki Minaj and Lil ‘Kim collaboration began last week after a source close to Nicki’s boyfriend, Meek Mill, dished to Hollywood Life that Meek is trying to convince Minaj and Kim to work together for an epic rap record.

“If [Nicki Minaj] got together with Kim in the studio and came up with a collab, they’d own rap!”

The source further explains that Meek Mill, “reminded Nicki that they’re in business for money, not for feuds. Nicki loves her dollars more than her A-1 steak sauce and she’s thinking really hard as to whether she can stomach working with Kim.”

Despite rumors of Meek Mill’s alleged involvement in trying to settle Nicki Minaj and Lil’ Kim’s longstanding feud, a source close to Minaj insists that a collaboration between Nicki and Kim is simply “impossible.”

Nicki’s source explains to Urban Islandz that Minaj has no plans to record a duet with Lil’ Kim, especially given their history of dissing one another, and that collaborating with Lil’ Kim would “do nothing for her career right now.”

“You’re talking about working with someone who has bashed you for years all because of jealousy. So the likelihood of a Nicki Minaj and Lil Kim collaboration is next to impossible, it will never happen.”

Nicki Minaj and Lil’ Kim have been feuding for years over what Kim perceives to be a lack of respect from Nicki given that Minaj emerged onto rap scene years after Kim’s saw international success.

Lil’ Kim has often accused Nicki Minaj of copying her image without showing her respect, prompting the duo to throw major shade at one another in tracks like Kim’s “Identity Theft” and Nicki’s “Stupid Hoe.”

Shortly after Nicki Minaj took aim at Lil’ Kim in her remix of Beyoncé’s “Flawless,” rapper T.I. spoke out regarding the nature of Minaj and Lil’ Kim’s ongoing feud, telling Billboard that Nicki and Kim’s hate for one another is “complicated.”

T.I. argues that it’s difficult for Lil’ Kim to accept a “new and younger version” of another female rapper simply because Kim has been “dominating for so long.”

The rapper goes on to explain that Lil’ Kim and Nicki Minaj’s feud has nothing to do women in rap specifically, but notes that Lil’ Kim wasn’t too happy with Minaj declaring herself the “queen of rap” on “Flawless.”

“Just because you heard another person say that you gonna be on edge. I feel like that’s more of the case with Kim and Nicki, even though I don’t know who started any of this.”

Similarly, T.I. notes that Minaj isn’t keen on constantly being compared to Lil’ Kim and argues, “it’s gonna put a chip on your shoulder in a different way too.”

Despite tensions dying down between Nicki and Kim after the release of Lil’ Kim’s “Identity Theft” track, Minaj seemingly threw shade at her rival during her 2015 BET Awards speech in which she encouraged the audience to “follow your dreams.”

“I want to tell you to please make it your business to follow your dreams because one day you will look around and your dream will be gone and you will be mad at somebody,” Nicki explained, “But be mad at your g** d*** self.”

Neither Nicki Minaj nor Lil’ Kim have directly spoken out about the rumors of a potential collaboration.
