Bryce Harper: Clown Question Bro [Video]

Washington Nationals phenom Bryce Harper that is is getting to a point where asking him about his massive home run shots are getting a bit mundane. So the press has starting asking him weird questions that he doesn’t always feel like answering. This latest one has basically gone viral on the web and has already inspired t-shirts and stickers.

Harper sent a blast into the upper decks on Tuesday night against the Toronto Blue Jays at the Rogers Centre that was measured at 438 feet. It would have been even longer but the home run hit off a restaurant sign.

The legal drinking age being 18 in Canada caused a reporter from The Score to ask Bryce if the 19 year old Home Run Machine was considering having a celebratory beer?

Harper gave the reporter a really condescending look and said,

“I’m not answering that. That’s a clown question, bro.”

The saying has instantly gone viral with t-shirts and stickers already making their way around the major league stadiums.

Harper is a Mormon and as such drinking is completely forbidden to him. The question seemed out of place even if that wasn’t the case, but the fact that he can’t drink in the first place makes the questions really not smart.

Harper won the 2010 Golden Spikes Award, awarded annually to the best amateur baseball player.Going into the 2012 season, baseball prospect-watchers, including Baseball America, MLB.com, and Baseball Prospectus routinely ranked Harper as a top-3 prospect. He made his MLB debut with the Nationals on April 28, 2012.
