Boy George, Prince Had A Sexual Encounter? Singer Makes Shocking Admission On ‘The Voice’

Boy George recently made an explosive revelation during filming of The Voice U.K.; The singer claimed that he had sex with the legendary musician Prince. Although the 54-year-old is a new coach on the reality television singing competition, he brought the show’s production to a halt when he said he’d slept with Prince, the Daily Mail wrote.

The renowned musician Boy George is one of the four judges on The Voice U.K., which is in its fifth season in that country. But in the midst of one of the tapings that was recorded this week, the “Karma Chameleon” singer left his role as coach to make a statement that reportedly “sent the audience absolutely wild and forced producers to stop filming.”

Boy George made the statement about Prince, 57, as cameras were rolling in front of a live audience during a talk with his fellow judges — Paloma Faith, Ricky Wilson, and Will.i.am (The Black Eyed Peas) — about the artistic collaborations that had been made ??in their careers. That’s when the musician said he had ??”duetted with some of the greatest soul singers in history, including Luther Vandross and Smokey Robinson.”

Not to be outdone, Paloma then replied, “Well OK, if we’re throwing big soul names out there I’ve performed with Prince.”

According to a report from Hollywood Life, George responded with the following statement.

“Forget that, darling, I’ve slept with Prince.”

According to the newspaper the Sun, the crowd was in such a frenzy over the comment that the production team had to stop filming until order was restored.

“We just couldn’t believe what he had come out with — and the guys in the gallery were beside themselves,” said a source close to the program.

“The crowd went absolutely wild because they thought they had just witnessed a massive celebrity exclusive,” said another team member.

The rest of the judges were also shocked with what they had just witnessed, and they reportedly “thought it was brilliant, particularly Will.i.am.”

“He kept coming up to Boy George and high-fiving him, which just set the crowd off again,” the report states. “Production staff had to come up on stage and speak to them. After that Boy George started backtracking saying he hadn’t really slept with Prince and that in reality, he just had his poster on his wall. But as far as the crowd were concerned the cat was already out of the bag.”

Media reaction to Boy George’s remarks was complete amazement, although George still claims he was only joking.

According to People magazine, citing a statement from a spokesperson, viewers can expect to see the clip in an upcoming audition episode after the program returns in the U.K. on Jan. 9.

Boy George, now a renowned DJ, came to The Voice U.K. as a replacement for Tom Jones, who was fired after four years as coach of the program. As pointed out in a recent article from Us Weekly, Boy George is no stranger to controversy. In 2005, he was arrested for suspicion of possessing cocaine and reporting a false burglary. The cocaine charge was dropped, but he was given community service a year later after pleading guilty to falsely reporting a burglary at his New York apartment.

In 2008, the star was convicted for assault and false imprisonment and was sentenced to 15 months in jail after a male escort claimed he was handcuffed to a wall and paid for sex. During the trial, the judge told the former Culture Club front man, whose real name is George O’Dowd, that he had left the escort “shocked, degraded and traumatised” by the ordeal.
