November’s Free Games For Playstation Plus Users Include ‘The Walking Dead: Season 2’ And ‘Magicka 2’

November is almost here, and the start of new month means new free PlayStation Plus games for users. Subscribers to Sony’s online service can expect two titles on each of the supported Sony platforms. In November, PlayStation 4 players will be able to download The Walking Dead: Season 2 and Magicka 2 for free. Those still using PlayStation 3 systems can enjoy Mass Effect 2 and the HD Beyond Good & Evil while PS Vitas will find Dragon Fin Soup and Invizimals available in their lineup.

The free games for PlayStation Plus subscribers in November were announced on the official PlayStation blog where it was noted that the PlayStation 4 games will be available the first Tuesday in November. The Walking Dead: Season 2 and Magicka 2 are the month’s PlayStation 4 titles. Players will play Clementine in the second season of The Walking Dead. Players with saves from The Walking Dead: Season 1 will be able to import their decisions and actions from the first game for use in the second season. A host of new survivors and new decisions will face Clementine in the second entry of The Walking Dead game.

On less serious or somber tone, PlayStation Plus subscribers on PlayStation 4 can appreciate Magicka 2. This co-op romp takes up to four wizards through the world of Midgård where eradicating evil is their mission. Mixing elements to create power spells is the cornerstone of Magicka 2 with a number of combinations available to devastate foes. Using smart tactics, like dousing an enemy in water and then electrocuting it, are a plus in this adventure.

PlayStation Plus subscribers on PlayStation 3 can download and enjoy Mass Effect 2 and the HD remaster of Beyond Good & Evil in the month of November. Mass Effect 2 is a lovely addition to the PlayStation Plus lineup. Players can continue their journey that began in Mass Effect with the game’s second entry. Commander Shepard will have new companions, new enemies, and the continuation of the story culminating in a mission that could save the universe or end up killing key characters in the series. Progress in Mass Effect 2 will carry over and slightly impact the events of Mass Effect 3 for those that have yet to complete the series.

The other PlayStation Plus free game for PlayStation 3 in November is Beyond Good & Evil. This is a remastered version the PlayStation 2 classic. Take up the role of Jade, the reporter in search of the truth behind a government conspiracy. With over 12 hours of gameplay consisting of puzzles, platforming, stealth, shooting, and boss fights, any player should find something to admire in this action-adventure title.

As for the Sony handheld system PS Vita, fans can look forward to Dragon Fin Soup and Invizimals in November. While the latter is only available on PS Vita, Dragon Fin Soup can be played on PlayStation 4 and PS Vita. In fact, Dragon Fin Soup will be cross-buy when available on PlayStation 3. The developers of Dragon Fin Soup recently previewed the rogue-like 2D action RPG for the PlayStation Blog.

The world of Dragon Fin Soup is procedurally generated where players engage in tactical RPG combat. The themes and setting of the game are quite mature although still boasting a sense of humor. The protagonist of the tale is a known alcoholic setting foot through a number of Grimm fairy tales. According to developers, over 60 hours of gameplay are available in Dragon Fin Soup between three cutthroat modes.
