Safaree Samuels Blames Meek Mill For Nicki Minaj Breakup, Says Rapper Wanted Minaj For Himself

Safaree Samuels and Nicki Minaj may have gone their separate ways nearly a year ago, but it looks like Safaree is still feeling some resentment towards Nicki Minaj’s current boyfriend, Meek Mill.

Safaree and Nicki Minaj ended their nearly 12-year relationship last year, but the former couple made a point to stay tight-lipped regarding the true reason for wanting to end their romance.

Safaree Samuels has dropped hints about his breakup from Minaj in the past, even going so far as to accuse Nicki of not wanting to marry him because he wanted to pursue his own rap career.

While Nicki Minaj maintains that she and Safaree simply grew apart after dating for over a decade, sources close to Nicki allege that it was Safaree’s infidelity that caused Minaj to ultimately pull the plug on their longtime romance.

Now, Safaree Samuels is speaking out about the alleged cheating rumors while also throwing shade at Nicki Minaj’s current beau, Meek Mill, by implying that Meek purposely tattled on him to Minaj so that he could have a chance at a relationship with the “Anaconda” rapper.

Speaking to the Jamaica Star earlier this week, Safaree reflects on his success as both Nicki Minaj’s former co-producer and his budding career as a recording artist before Samuels dishes on what really led to the end of his relationship with Nicki.

When asked about his former relationship with Nicki Minaj, Safaree admits that Meek Mill purposely spoke poorly of him in an attempt to get closer to Nicki.

“I have seen things that I don’t even bother to speak about, so I will just leave that,” Safaree Samuels began, “But you know, as a man, there is just certain things that you just don’t do to another man, whether it’s true or not.”

Safaree goes on to argue that Meek Mill should not have gotten in the middle of his relationship with Nicki Minaj before hinting that Meek Mill tattled on him so that he could have a shot at a relationship with Nicki.

“It’s none of your business to go and tell somebody’s significant other that, ‘Oh, I saw your boyfriend doing this and that.’ What type of man [does] that?”

Safaree goes on to reference his Meek Mill and Nicki Minaj diss track, “Lifeline,” admitting that he felt the need to set the record straight about his former relationship with Nicki.

In “Lifeline,” Safaree Samuels argues that it was him who decided to call off his relationship with Nicki so that she could “move on to better things,” while dissing Meek Mill by implying that the rapper will never be good enough for Nicki.

“Wasn’t a secret you bull I knew everything / Hope you go platinum my n**** she need a better ring / I thought I left her so she could move on to better things.”

While Nicki Minaj has yet to speak out against ex Safaree’s claims, Minaj did drop a not-so-subtle hint about her reason for ending things with Samuels in a tweet posted earlier this year.

“Lesson: don’t cheat on a loyal woman. God will punish u. When he does, tell people the truth. The truth may set u free. Love. Always.”

Safaree’s claims about Meek Mill tarnishing his name in an attempt to get closer to Nicki Minaj comes just days after Safaree teased the upcoming release of his new video, “Shade Room,” Boom Box reports.

In the track, Safaree makes fun of Meek Mill’s appearance while also alleging that Nicki Minaj broke up with him because he wasn’t popular enough for her.

While Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill continue to fuel engagement speculation, it appears Safaree Samuels still has a lot to say about his former relationship and eventual breakup with Nicki Minaj.

Do you think Safaree Samuels is right to blame Meek Mill for his breakup with Nicki Minaj?
