Leah Messer Photographs Surface, ‘Teen Mom 2’ Star Looks Disheveled Before Losing Custody Of Twins

Leah Messer didn’t look to be doing well just months before she lost custody of her 5-year-old twin girls, Ali and Aleeah Simms. On October 29, Radar Online shared a series of photos of Leah Messer, which featured the Teen Mom 2 star looking disheveled and overwhelmed as her daughter played on a playground in their swimsuits.

According to the report, the photos of Leah Messer were taken in July, and her youngest daughter, 2-year-old Adalynn, was also included in the fun.

In the photos, Leah Messer is seen wearing bright purple tights with a colorful top, while her hair is pulled back in a messy bun with her crinkly bangs hanging to the side. The reality star, who once sported a super-thin frame, also seems to have put on a few extra pounds, which she hid underneath her baggy shirt.

Last week, In Touch Weekly revealed news of Leah Messer losing custody of her twin girls, claiming the ordeal took place during a court hearing earlier this month.

Corey Simms, the twins’ father and Leah Messer’s ex-husband, “was awarded primary custody, effective immediately” on October 13, a source told the magazine. “Leah only gets the girls on the weekends now.”

Simms and his wife, Miranda, filed for full custody of Leah Messer’s daughters in 2014, and since then, claimed the report, Messer’s behavior hasn’t improved.

“[Leah Messer]’s really been screwing up since then, so Corey took her back to court. The judge looked at the girls’ school records, which show that they’ve been late for school, and made the change in custody.”

At the time of Simms’ custody filing, Leah Messer was accused of being addicted to prescription pain pills, which she had been prescribed after the painful birth of her youngest child. However, because she was given the pills by a doctor, a drug test taken earlier this year was considered to be “negative.” Still, rumors regarding Leah Messer’s alleged drug problem continued on Teen Mom 2, with Simms claiming she was hiding her drug problem, and her second husband, Jeremy Calvert, telling Simms she was dealing with a “prescription pill problem.”

As for Leah Messer’s youngest child, Adalynn, the family source claimed Calvert was considering filing for full custody, as well, especially after hearing of a scary incident which happened when Leah Messer was reportedly not watching the child.

“Everyone is very worried about Addie. She recently wandered out of the house while Leah was distracted. Thankfully, a police officer found Addie and brought her back home.”

Currently, Calvert’s job as a pipeline engineer keeps him out of town for weeks at a time, and often requires traveling, so having full custody of Adalynn would be extremely difficult. He is, however, said to be looking for work closer to home, which would allow him to follow in Simms’ footsteps and file for full custody.

“If [Jeremy] can find [a job] nearby, he’ll go for the same custody arrangement that Corey did.”

Since losing custody of her twins, Leah Messer has been highly active on Twitter and Facebook, telling fans of how “blessed” she is, and showing of letters she wrote to her daughters. Unfortunately, for the most part, Leah Messer’s fanbase is extremely disappointed in the latest turn of events, and aren’t impressed with her tweets, which seem to hint she’s stepping up and attempting to be a better mom.
