Lamar Odom: Khloe Kardashian Refutes Reconciliation Rumors

Despite the fact that the divorce of Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian has been called off, the reality TV starlet is denying a reconciliation is in the works. It’s been reported by AP that the Khloe has personally come out to put the rampant rumors of her reconciliation with Lamar Odom to rest. Despite filing for and receiving a dismissal of the couple’s pending divorce, Khloe K. is insisting that the legal action had nothing to do with repairing her relationship. Instead, she states that she took the action to ensure that she was able to continue to make medical decisions for Lamar Odom in his incapacitated state.

“I pulled back on the divorce because there is no rush for it. For medical decisions and a ton of other things, it’s just smarter that it’s put on hold. But that does not mean I’m back with Lamar. It’s not even in our brains to think about us having a relationship. Only time will tell.”

The dismissal of the couple’s December 2013 divorce filing was made official by a court clerk on October 21. However, this was done “without prejudice,” which means that the case can be refiled at a later date. The dismissal of the divorce came just over a week after Lamar Odom was found unconscious and unresponsive at a Nevada brother, the Love Ranch, on October 13.

While initial reports following the hospitalization of Lamar Odom indicated that the former Laker may have overdosed on legal “herbal Viagra,” the story quickly expanded. It didn’t take long for reports of cocaine use by Odom to surface. While he was hospitalized, local police confiscated his blood for toxicology testing, per a search warrant. This week, it’s been reported that Lamar could be facing felony charges for cocaine, based upon the results of those toxicology tests.

Lamar Odom has gotten a lot of support from his fans, friends, family and even random strangers. This despite the compromising position he was found in. Khloe Kardashian has also been largely praised for her reaction to his hospitalization. She did, after all, drop everything, rush to her husband’s side, and dismiss her divorce with Odom.

It remains to be seen how Khloe’s recent announcement that she stopped her divorce proceedings to remain Lamar Odom’s medical decision-maker is going to be received. As a reality TV star, her ratings depend largely on how her audience perceives her. Will her fans find her latest words favorable, or will they add to her notoriety? Being part of a family that was catapulted to fame largely because of Kim Kardashian’s sex tape, perhaps she feels that any publicity is good publicity.

While the ultimate, inevitable fallout of Khloe’s latest words about Lamar Odom has yet to be tallied, you’d better believe people took to Twitter to voice their opinions.

With Lamar Odom still facing months of rehab and barely speaking, his opinion on the subject remains unknown. Most recent reports indicate that Odom will be in need of a kidney transplant in the future, and that he’s suffered from some degree of lung damage and as-yet-undetermined level of brain damage, too. The road to recovery will be a long and difficult one for Lamar Odom, especially without his estranged wife making any promises to stick by his side.

“There is a very long road ahead of him, and he has to walk that road by himself.”

Fortunately, even without the direct support of Khloe, Lamar has an extensive support system. Her famous family still refers to Lamar Odom as “brother.” He also has a lot of close friends, many of whom he played with or against in the NBA. Many of the former colleagues of Lamar Odom have come out very publicly in his support since his medical ordeal began.

One person who’s stayed utterly mum about Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian is Khloe’s current boyfriend, James Harden. Most people presumed she’d kicked her new man to the curb when she rushed to Lamar Odom’s bedside and pulled the plug on her pending divorce. People is reporting that Khloe is letting the chips fall where they may in her months-old relationship with the Houston Rocket player. “…I’m just allowing everything to unfold.” That might be the best idea, with the future health of Lamar Odom still in question.
