‘RHOC’ Star Tamra Judge’s Ex Simon Barney And Daughter Sidney, Respond To Claims He Turned Their Daughter Against Her

Simon Barney has officially responded to the claims made by his former wife and Real Housewives of Orange County star Tamra Judge concerning their daughter, Sidney. Although Judge recently came out and stated that Barney had turned her daughter against her, Barney has since explained that this is not the case.

According to Celebrity Dirty Laundry, Barney called out Judge as being a “narcissist” and “emotional vampire” following the airing of the first part of the reunion for RHOC.

“A narcissist’s weapon of choice is often verbal — slander, lies, playing the victim in flipped tales of who was the victim and who was the abuser, gossip, rage, verbal abuse and intentional infliction of emotional pain,” Barney stated, quoting the words of acclaimed psychologist Gail Meyers.

“This is why narcissists are so often called ’emotional vampires.'”

The two reality stars have been engaged in a heated custody fight over their children ever since announcing their divorce last year. At this point, the main point of contention between the two centers on Sidney, their oldest child, who has expressed a strong desire to remain with her father instead of Judge.

With that in mind, Judge recently opened up about her troubles with her daughter during the reality show’s reunion special. According to Starcasm, Judge unexpectedly related her story through a storm of emotions.

“This is something I’ve never talked about,” Judge related to host Andy Cohen, adding that her daughter told her, “I don’t want to live with you anymore. You know, you’ve ruined my dad’s life.”

Through her tears, Tamra Judge was able to share that she was shocked by her daughter’s words and has not seen her since that fateful day. “I had no idea where this was coming from,” she stated. “She basically left that day, and two years later, she has not come back.”

Meanwhile, Judge was quick to blame Barney for the troubled relationship with her daughter. “I fought so hard to get her help … The court appointed therapist wanted her to get more extensive help,” she explained, adding that Barney did not want to partake in the therapy. “So I went to court to try to get my daughter help, and he fought me not to get her help. And he won. The judge says she’s seventeen. She can choose who she wants to live with, and that’s that.”

At the same time, Judge was also asked about why she was waiting until now to come out with the story. After all, apart from minor details that have leaked online, she has remained silent on the issue throughout the entire season of RHOC. Apparently, her reason for doing so was because she didn’t want the world to see how humiliating her situation had become.

“If your child turns her back on you it’s humiliating, it’s embarrassing. And then I’m in the press being called ‘a monster mom,’ ” she stated during the special.

Clearly, Judge’s comments on the show have sparked new discussion concerning her custody battle with Barney. In fact, as previously noted, Barney did not hold back on his comments following the airing of the show. In regards to her ex-husband’s harsh words, Judge stated that she simply doesn’t pay attention to anything he has to say on the subject.

“I don’t care anymore – he’s not going to push me around, tell me what to do. I’ve kept quiet because of him for so long and now I’m speaking out,” Judge admitted.

After Tamra’s revelations, her daughter reportedly fired back on Facebook, in a post that many assumed was actually written by Simon.

In the post, reported by Radar Online, Sidney wrote,”the reason I do not live with my mother is not because of my dad, it is because [Judge] is mentally/verbally abusive and not a mother to me.”

To which Tamra responded on Twitter, “I can guarantee she did not write it,” she said. “I think we all know who did.”
