Jimmy Fallon Injured Again At Harvard Lampoon Award Gala: Tux-Clad Comic Trips Over ‘Random Girl,’ Hurts Other Hand

Jimmy Fallon was injured again. After tripping and crashing during a Harvard University celebration intended to honor Jimmy, Fallon slashed open his hand in yet another fall, reported Us Weekly.

The injured 41-year-old comedian was clutching a bottle of Jagermeister when the accident happened. Fallon, famed for his antics as the host of the Tonight Show, was thrilled when he learned that the Harvard Lampoon wanted to pay homage to his wit and wisdom. But Jimmy wasn’t so thrilled when amid the celebration with Harvard’s humor publication, Fallon managed to hurt himself again.

Fallon emphasized later that although he was injured (no, it wasn’t a spoof of his previous accidents), he’s all right. The incident occurred when a young woman was crouched in front of Fallon. He then fell over her.

“Nothing that a few band aids couldn’t fix,” Jimmy later shared.

Fallon previously injured his other hand.

“Tripped and caught my fall,” Jimmy shared about that accident. “Ring caught on side of table almost ripped my finger off.”

Although the accident-prone comedian made light of his most recent damage to his appendages, the fact that he fell while holding that bottle of Jaegermeister could have resulted in much more serious injury. Fallon was injured enough to require a visit to Massachusetts General Hospital, reported People.

“Some random girl kneeled down in front of him abruptly as he was turning around and he tripped over her because he didn’t see her,” explained an insider.

Fallon injured his right hand a mere four months after hurting his other hand.

However, the significance of Jimmy’s honor at Harvard University may help ease the pain of yet another accident. The tuxedo-clad Fallon received the Elmer Award for Excellence in Humor. Jimmy is the first person to receive that award since the turn of the century. Unfortunately, the honor was somewhat diminished by the humility of tripping and falling again.

“Jimmy went to the ground, and everybody asked if he was OK,” said one person who observed the accident-prone comic crash. “He said he was fine.”

Despite Fallon insisting that he was all right, it apparently was clear that he was injured because after the Cambridge Police became involved to guide him back to a standing position, Fallon climbed into his limousine to go to the hospital. One person watched the medical emergency play out.

“A guy and a guy got out of the limo, and went in before him for like five minutes,” recalled the person hoping for an autograph. “They came out, waved to the car, Jimmy got out, and they all walked into Mass General.”

Fallon later had fun at a party with the Harvard Lampoon group but had his hand in a noticeable bandage. The party was prefaced by treating himself to Scorpion Bowls at the Hong Kong Restaurant. At that Harvard Square bar, Fallon delighted students who were also sporting tuxedos by drinking with them.

“He was waving at people, and taking selfies with girls,” recalled an observer. “Everybody would scream every time he stood up.”

Thus far, although Fallon was injured in this latest incident, the new accident isn’t as severe as the one to the other hand. Fallon had to undergo surgery for that accident, reported CNN.

Jimmy revealed that when he fell, his wife’s favorite braided rug is to blame.

“I tripped and fell in my kitchen on a braided rug that my wife loves, and I can’t wait to burn it to the ground,” Fallon joked. “My ring got caught on the countertop when I was going down, and stuck there and pulled my finger off.”

Although Fallon initially knew that he was injured and thought he might have broken his finger, Jimmy soon learned that it was significantly worse and required emergency surgery.

“Apparently the odds aren’t great with these things,” Fallon revealed. “Usually they just cut your finger off.”
