Demi Lovato Calls Out The Media For Rumors, Says She ‘Loves’ Adam Lambert

Demi Lovato took to Twitter this weekend to put some rumors to rest regarding her friendship with Adam Lambert, who was reportedly “kicked off” her world tour in favor of Nick Jonas.

According to TMZ, Demi had everything all set with Lambert as far as tour negotiations, but at the last minute brought in Jonas to take his place, likely at the suggestion of her manager.

“Our sources say Demi’s people locked in Adam to join her on tour and they were working out details like lighting, billing, etc. Demi and Adam had agreed on the essential terms, including money…Demi and Nick are repped by the same manager and we’re told the manager wanted to place Nick in a tour, because he’s hot now and didn’t have one, so he convinced Demi to dump Adam for Jonas,” explains TMZ.

The site contends that Adam Lambert is very upset at the changes, but Demi took to Twitter to set the record straight and took on TMZ at the same time, saying you can’t trust the outlet for accuracy.

Demi Lovato did say at the height of the rumors that she and Nick — who worked together previously for Disney — are longtime friends and are business partners.

Lovato has been in the news quite a few times in recent months over rumors; last month she cleared up stories that she and longtime friend Selena Gomez are on the outs, saying that while she hadn’t yet listened to Gomez’s new album, they did get together for dinner last month and sat for a selfie together.

“It was at someone’s house and there was quite a few people there, but we sat across from each other. It was just fun to catch up and see each other,” Lovato said.

The former Disney Channel star has been pretty active on social media lately and has been making sure her fans know she’s in a good place after battling an eating disorder and bi-polar disorder. Her new album has given her an outlet to talk about what it means to be healthy and happy with herself, something her fans can relate to. Selena Gomez said recently how proud she is of her friend for going through all the challenges she’s seen and coming out strong on the other side.

“I’m very proud of Demi and her being able to accept the challenges she went through, but also for staying a good role model to people who do struggle with the things that she’s gone through. I’ve always been taught that you are who you surround yourself with. So if you surround yourself with good positive people you can only do good things for them and they can only do good things for you,” Selena told i-D Magazine.

Besides the new album and tour, Demi has been hard at work alongside her beau, Wilmer Valderrama, on From Dusk Till Dawn. The singer and actress — who plays Maia — was initially only supposed to appear once on the series as a love interest for Valderrama’s character, but producers loved her so much they added on to her storyline.

“It gave us the opportunity to tell the story about a different kind of incredibly strong woman. Maia brought a whole new color to the show. Not just the character, but obviously the way Demi played it,” said executive producer Diego Gutierrez. “She will stand up to the queen at the end of the day, simply because she is devoted to her man.”
