Jessa Seewald Gives Fans Peek At Baby’s Face

Jessa Seewald gave her fans a little glimpse at her unborn child’s face over the weekend, sharing a 3-D ultrasound photo up next to baby pictures of herself and husband Ben.

The former 19 Kids And Counting star took to Instagram to share the image, saying she can’t wait to find out whether the baby will resemble her or Ben more, and fans went wild over it. The post has over 72,000 “likes” on the image-sharing site and has garnered hundreds of comments.

“Sitting here dreaming about the moment when we will meet our little one face-to-face…and wondering if our baby will carry more Seewald or Duggar characteristics and features! I’m thinking #BabySeewald will be a sweet mix of the two of us! What do you think? Just 10 more days till baby’s due date,” Jessa captioned the photo.

Jessa Seewald and husband Ben haven’t been shy on social media this year, sharing their lives on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and on various videos through media outlets such as People despite the scandals that have rocked the Duggar family. The couple recently shared their decision to adopt, which has been put on hold during her first pregnancy but is still very much on the table.

“Adoption is definitely something that is very dear to our heart. As Christians, adoption is such a beautiful picture and reminder of God’s love for us in adopting us into His family,” Jessa wrote on their blog. “We have been so blessed to be able to talk with other adoptive families, to hear their stories and learn from their personal journeys. Since we are soon to have a baby of our own, things are on hold for a time. But we plan within this next year to take some adoption classes and begin working towards this goal.”

Jessa has been keeping fans updated on the entire journey of her pregnancy but has stayed relatively quiet on the subject of her brother Josh, choosing to talk instead about her newlywed status and the preparations for the baby on social media and when traveling to speaking engagements with Ben.

Jessa and sister Jill gave an interview to Fox soon after Josh Duggar was revealed to have sexually abused several of his underage sisters when he was 14 years old, and while the sit-down was an emotional one, Jill said she wanted to clarify some things.

“I do want to speak up in his defense against people who are calling him a child molester or a pedophile or a rapist, some people are saying. In Josh’s case, he was a boy, a young boy in puberty and a little too curious about girls and that got him into to some trouble and he made some bad choices, but really the extent of it was mild, inappropriate touching, on fully clothed victims, most of it while girls were sleeping,” Jill said.

TLC canceled the family’s reality show almost immediately afteward, but recently announced a new spinoff show focused on Jessa and Jill called Jill & Jessa: Counting On. The series will reportedly follow the sisters through the stages of new parenthood and will show Jill and her husband, Derick, as they do missionary work in South America. According to a source at People, the show will be a bittersweet experience for Jessa because her sister was able to chronicle her entire childbirth experience on their former show, and now things have been tainted by the scandals her brother is facing.

“It is now bittersweet, because it’s not lost on Jessa that Jill giving birth to Israel got an entire TLC special devoted to it. Jessa would have liked to have had the same sort of platform to give thanks, show what a miracle she feels her child is and express her gratitude. But the show isn’t there to chronicle this happy time, and even though she’s posting on social media, the scandal still gets brought up by commenters. So much has changed for Jessa compared to what Jill experienced and it can’t be changed back. And that’s sad for her.”
