‘Allegiant’ Stars Theo James And Shailene Woodley Romance Rumors Should End As Engagement News Surfaces

Although they have been at the center of dating rumors in recent months, it is now apparent that Divergent stars Theo James and Shailene Woodley are not romantically involved. In fact, according to Realty Today, James is getting ready for a wedding of his own, and it isn’t with Woodley.

Ever since the first Divergent film was released, the two have been thought to be romantically involved given the way their characters interact with each other in front of the camera. To add to this, the two also seem to enjoy each other’s company outside of their work. However, as noted by the Master Herald, it was always a possibility that the two’s off-screen chemistry was just another tactic used to promote the film.

With that in mind, any sort of brewing romance between the Divergent stars may be put to rest following the Realty Today report that James is set to marry his girlfriend Ruth Kearney at some point in 2017. This recent tidbit of information follows comments by James and Woodley in which they both confirmed that they were not in a relationship.

“No we’re not dating,” Woodley told HLN. “We’re not dating,” James agreed.

Woodley went on to add that things between them are strictly professional in nature. “We’re good professionals. I’m just kidding! We get along great,” Woodley stated.

However, despite the news that Theo James is set to marry his girlfriend, the rumors surrounding James and Woodley are not going away as quickly as one might imagine. To add more fuel to the flames, there are some inconsistencies that indicate James’ relationship with Kearney may not be what it seems.

According to Franchise Herald, James and Kearney have yet to officially announce their engagement, which doesn’t help clear matters up. Furthermore, the reports that the two are gearing up for a wedding was first reported as a satirical piece by Media Mass. Apparently, the news was meant as a joke and was not confirmed by anyone close to the couple, which has only cast more doubt on the alleged wedding plans.

In fact, the article in question merely states that James and Kearney were seen shopping at a high-end jewelry store. The ring that they were supposedly eyeing appeared to be of the engagement variety, though no evidence has been offered at this point. While this could certainly be a true account of what happened, there is no way to verify it without proof or a statement by the couple.

Meanwhile, the idea that the reports of a coming wedding may be false opens the door that a relationship may be developing between James and Woodley. In fact, Venture Capital Post is reporting that James is so content with his on-screen work with Woodley that he wants to work with her on future projects. Does this indicate the two are romantically involved?

Furthermore, Yibada is reporting that James’ desire to work with Woodley has caused some issues with his relationship with Kearney. After all, James has revealed in the past that he puts all of his effort into every scenes with Woodley, including the kissing ones.

“I just went at it hard, to be honest, because I thought that’s how she wanted it,” James stated in a recent interview. “I thought to assuage any awkwardness I would just go for it. She was kind of batting away my hands.”

At this point, it should be noted that James and Kearney have yet to announce anything official regarding their planned wedding. At the same time, little proof has emerged concerning the nature of the relationship between Woodley and James. Until more information is released, the situation remains unclear.
