Kelly Clarkson apparently can’t be trusted to keep a secret, which may be something her fans learned at a Staples Center performance in Los Angeles on Wednesday night. Kelly has been spilling the exciting news that she is pregnant with her second child from husband Brandon Blackstock, and Clarkson has even more recently revealed early details of the growing bundle of joy. Currently, Kelly and Brandon have a daughter, River Rose Blackstock, born on June 12, 2014.

Ms. Clarkson was midway through the song “Piece by Piece,” which tells the tale of Kelly’s relationship with her own father, when a sudden bout of crying forced the singer to breakdown on stage. Clarkson confessed to the audience that she was overwhelmed by the good fortune of having found someone like Brandon Blackstock, as Kelly commented on just how loving and supportive she had found her husband. Referring to her own childhood, Clarkson commented that she many never know the experience of having “a great dad or a great role model” for which she credits Blackstock.

“I was not planning on announcing this. I’m totally pregnant again,” Kelly confessed with a laugh, reports Entertainment Tonight.

The audience responded with cheers and applause, prompting a bow from Clarkson and a further confession that the announcement had not been planned. Kelly revealed that her decision to reveal the big news was in response to her sudden crying episode, explaining that she didn’t want those in attendance thinking something far worse had happened.

In fact, Ms. Clarkson also admitted to fans that she was afraid of how husband Brandon would react, following the impromptu announcement, since the couple had not yet revealed the happy news to the rest of their family.

Kelly Clarkson Gives The Lowdown On Her Second Pregnancy

Following that sudden announcement at her most recent concert that she was pregnant, Ms. Clarkson took to Instagram to reveal more about the new bundle of joy soon to become a part of Clarkson and Blackstock’s family. Sharing a picture of her one-year-old daughter, Kelly revealed the gender of her baby.

“In other news, River’s gonna have a little baby brother,” Clarkson, 33, wrote. “#itsaboy We’re so excited!”

Blackstock, who is a music manager, has two children from a previous marriage, a daughter named Savannah and son named Seth, according to US Weekly.

Coincidentally, Clarkson and Blackstock were married on October 20, 2013 at Blackberry Farms in Tennessee. While the ceremony was small and private, Kelly did share a selection of wedding day photos with her fans. Among the collection of pictures, Kelly and Brandon are seen sharing a peck on the cheek with a covered bridge prominently featured in the background. Other photos included Clarkson and Blackstock locked in a loving embrace in the middle of a grassy field and a solo shot of Kelly Clarkson modeling her wedding gown.

Prior to the wedding, there had been rumors circulating that Clarkson and Blackstock were planning a speedy elopement, as opposed to an extravagant, public wedding, because Kelly was pregnant and didn’t want her child born out of wedlock. Ms. Clarkson addressed and denied those rumors, when she announced news of the wedding.

“We are eloping for one reason only. We both want an intimate ceremony.”

Ms. Clarkson has previously said that her first pregnancy was extremely difficult and cites issues with her body shutting down, but she added that she wanted to have just one more baby. Kelly had hoped to have a boy, and Ms. Clarkson has been granted her wish, leaving her free to take measures to prevent any future pregnancies.

Kelly Clarkson has cancelled the remainder of her concert to rest her voice.
