‘Star Wars’ Trailer Reveals More Of Story As Possible Spoilers Surface In Latest Rumors

A new Star Wars trailer for the latest installment, The Force Awakens, was released this week to both outrage on Twitter and nearly breaking a YouTube record for the most views in one day for a video. The trailer for the movie, which debuts at Christmastime, was featured on Monday Night Football. Minutes later, millions were watching it online. The second trailer, released in April, had over 64 million views on YouTube.

According to Huewire, the new trailer opens with characters Rey and Finn, portrayed by Daisy Ridley and John Boyega respectively, wondering about their places in the galaxy. The latest antagonist, Kylo Ren, portrayed by Adam Driver, promises to finish the legacy started by the deceased Darth Vader.

The hashtag “Boycott Star Wars VII” appeared on Twitter on October 19. It points to the fact that none of the main characters in the film are white males. Critics stated that the new Star Wars movie pushed a multicultural advocacy. As reported in Realty Today, Twitterers quickly responded, including Mozes (@mozesislam09), who wrote the following.

“Racists start #BoycottStarWarsVII [because] of a black lead character. They [forgot] the MOST iconic character in the series had a BLACK [guy’s] voice.”

Mashable wasn’t so easily swayed by the commotion and claimed the hashtag originated from the forum 4chan. It is a forum often known for stirring up controversy as well as a few laughs.

The new trailer has also led to more speculation about the death of Han Solo, with a scene featuring Leia Organa-Solo (portrayed by Carrie Fisher, who is now Han Solo’s wife) in a distraught state. Fans have speculated for months now that Han Solo will somehow meet an awful fate.

As previously reported by Inquisitr, the possible plot twist was revealed, as were the worldwide premiere dates for the movie. Further rumors surfaced as it was revealed Hayden Christensen may return to the Star Wars universe in the eighth installment of the Star Wars franchise. While some fans were excited about the possible return of Christensen, others were less enthusiastic.

Movie Pilot reported major speculation on who will die in the seventh installment of Star Wars. As previously mentioned, fans have speculated for months that Han Solo would die. From an analysis of the Star Wars trailer conducted by Movie Pilot, it appeared that may not be Han Solo who dies at all, but his beloved friend, Chewbacca.

Reasons given for the speculation included the appearance of the arm. It didn’t appear to be human. Instead, it looked hairy. The character seemed to be wearing a shoulder strap on the shoulder that looks similar to the one that Chewbacca wore in previous movies. The expression on Rey’s face also indicated that she was upset over something terrible that had happened.

In another shot of Leia Organa-Solo, although it doesn’t show Han Solo’s eyes, Leia is seen as saddened while Han Solo holds her. Her expression is rather somber, leading Movie Pilot to believe that she is consoling her husband instead.

Movie Pilot also revealed that a standalone prequel related to Han Solo is set to be released in 2018. The focus of the new film may be on the relationship between Han Solo and Chewbacca.
