Louis Freeh‘s firm has been hired by the New Orleans Saints, in order to investigate several allegations, from wire-tapping during Superdome games to the bounty scandal.

Fox News reports that Saints spokesman Greg Bensel wrote in an email:

“Serious allegations have been made about our organization this offseason; we take these allegations very seriously.”

Apparently so seriously that the Saints have hired the firm run by the ex-FBI director, in order to find out what exactly is going on.

Benson further states, according to NFL.com, that:

“As a result, we have hired the Freeh Group, founded by former director of the FBI and former federal judge Louis Freeh. Mr. Benson moved quickly to hire them and has spared no expense to get to the bottom of these allegations. We have given the Freeh Group complete access to our team and all of the individuals who have been associated with this news story.”

Louis Freeh and his team will most likely focus initially on the wire-tapping allegations, which are also under investigation by the Louisiana state police and the FBI. The Denver Post reports that the allegations, which the Saints deny, calling them, “1,000 percent false” allege that Mickey Loomis, general manager of the Saints, was able to eavesdrop on opposing coaches’ radio communications from his box at the Superdome during games between the 2002 and 2004 seasons.

The Louis Freeh team will also investigate allegations that former Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams ran a program which paid Saints defensive players cash bonuses for injurious hits on targeted opponents between 2009 and 2011.
