Bill Clinton ‘Endorses’ Donald Trump For President In New Campaign Ad

Bill Clinton, in a move that has shocked everyone, has endorsed Donald Trump for the White House.

The former two-term president of the United States was expected to go with Democratic frontrunner (and wife) Hillary Clinton, but this “surprise” move has left social media in an uproar.

Of course, you should probably know at this point that the endorsement was announced via Trump’s own Instagram page in a 15-second clip that boasted more creative editing than anything you might see out of Hollywood.

The video starts with white letters against a black backdrop reading, “An endorsement from Bill Clinton?”

Then it cuts to footage of a recent interview with Clinton, where the former commander-in-chief says of Trump, “He’s a master brander… and the most interesting character out there…. And there is a macho appeal to saying, ‘I’m sick of nothing happening. I make things happen. Vote for me…. And I like him.”

After the “love fest,” you’re back at the black screen with more white letters that simply say, “Thanks Bill!!!!!” and then it closes with the “Trump: Make America Great Again” slogan.

The ad, which cannot be taken as an official endorsement — hence the quotes over that word variation in the headline above — is certainly not your typical political campaign ad, but it is being seen by many as an epic bit of 21st century trolling, and it could actually be seen literal in a social media culture that seldom looks past the headlines of an article before they start believing it.

A pundit might think the clip is a perfect example of what Bill Clinton is saying that Trump knows how to do so well — brand himself.

At the same time, informed voters may see nothing here to think Trump’s campaign is little more than a publicity stunt.

What is known, from the words of Bill Clinton himself, is that a relationship does exist between the Clintons and Trump as evidenced in the power couple’s appearance at his third wedding in 2005 to current wife Melania Knauss via the Hill.

Trump has attested that his donation is what brought Hillary and Bill Clinton to the wedding, but in August, Hillary told the website that she was “planning to be in Florida, and I thought it’d be fun to go to his wedding, because it’s always entertaining.”

“Now that he’s running for president, it’s a little more troubling,” she added.

Donald Trump used the appearance as an example of how he’s played the system over the years and how Hillary, as well as most of his Republican rivals, are “bought and paid for.”

The claim that he is the one person in the election on either side who “can’t be bought” has taken him far, and positive polling for the real estate mogul and former reality TV star indicates that he isn’t done by a long shot.

Only time will tell if this “endorsement” from Bill Clinton helps him go all the way.

Of course, if you want to know whom the former President is really backing for next year’s race, check out his full comments at this link to the YouTube video.

As for how Trump’s supporters are taking the “official endorsement” from Bill Clinton, here’s what a few had to say.

“He should be your running mate. Deep down he knows you’re right for America.”

“Bet @HillaryClinton isn’t going to be happy about that!”

“Bill stumbles into honesty. There is hope for the worst of us. #Trump2016”
