Reality Star Khloe Kardashian Speaks, Issues First Statement Following Lamar Odom’s Health Crisis: ‘You Can Never Be Prepared For An Experience Like This’

Reality star Khloe Kardashian is speaking to fans for the first time since her estranged husband, Lamar Odom, was found unconscious. After Odom was transported to Los Angeles from Las Vegas, where he had been since last Tuesday, the reality star issued an official statement, via her website.

Below is the reality star’s statement.

“The past week has been incredibly difficult. I am so thankful to family, friends and fans, who have sent nothing but prayers and well wishes to Lamar. I also want to take a moment to thank everyone at Sunrise Hospital, including the amazing doctors and nurses for their kindness and diligent work. Under their amazing care, incredible strides have been made. You can never be prepared for an experience like this, but without the outpouring of love and endless prayers that Lamar has received and the strength I was given from my loved ones, it would have been difficult to endure. Thank you for your continued support. God is great!!!”

Upon hearing news of Odom’s unconsciousness, reality star Kardashian immediately flew to Las Vegas to be by his side. As TMZ revealed at the time, the reality star was joined by her mother, Kris Jenner, who was very close to Odom during their marriage. In the moments leading up to Odom’s hospitalization, the former professional athlete had been partying with women at a brothel in Pahrump, Nevada, before two of the ladies discovered him unconscious, with mucus running out of his nose and mouth, and called 911. Once Odom arrived to the hospital, it was revealed he was in a coma, and suffering from several failing organs, including his kidneys, lungs, and heart.

While the prognosis for the reality star’s husband wasn’t too hopeful for the first couple of days, Friday saw major improvements, with Odom reportedly opening his eyes and communicating with Kardashian, who hadn’t left his side since she arrived three days prior. Page Six even claimed Odom had said, “Hey baby,” to his reality star wife.

Prior to the reality star’s statement, she and Odom had flown together in helicopter from Las Vegas to Los Angeles, where Odom is currently receiving treatment. According to a TMZ report, the couple left Sin City at 5:30 p.m. local time. The site also claimed Odom likely suffered permanent damage because of his reported overdose, although it is unclear what exactly that damage will be.

On October 19, a separate TMZ report claimed Odom would survive his health crisis with months of rehab. In the report, it was noted that doctors had informed Kardashian and the rest of Odom’s family that his road to recovery would be a long one, and in response, the reality star had proclaimed her dedication to Odom, and revealed plans to remain at his side for however long the process takes.

As Odom continues treatment, regularly seeing speech, physical, and other therapists, rumors regarding his relationship with the reality star continue to swirl. Clearly, Kardashian still cares deeply for her estranged husband, but a romance reunion may be a bit far fetched due to their troubled past. Either way, Kardashian will be at Odom’s side for the next few months as he continues to heal from his medical crisis.
