‘Destiny’ Weekly Reset For October 20, Nightfall Rewards Patch Dropping

Yet another Destiny Weekly Reset arrived Tuesday, October 20, and PlayStation and Xbox players will finally receive some relief on the lack of Nightfall rewards. Bungie is deploying a new patch today to make the activity more rewarding. You’ll just need to wait for the release of the patch and get through those nasty Psion Flayers first.

The changes to the Nightfall rewards system has been a pain point for Destiny players on PlayStation and Xbox consoles since the The Taken King first launched. It made the list of “Six Things That Need to be Fixed for Year Two,” previously covered by the Inquisitr. Fortunately, Bungie has heard the complaints and will deploy an update to the game today at 1 p.m. ET / 10 a.m. PT. It is strongly suggested you do not complete the Nightfall until after this patch is deployed. If you do, you’ll have to wait until next week to get the new rewards.

Speaking of the Nightfall, this week’s Strike is the Dust Palace with a showdown against the Psion Flayers. The modifiers are particularly vicious too with player radar disabled, players taking more damage in the air, and minions not flinching. The last one is always a pain to deal with against the Cabal and Taken Phalanxes hiding behind their shields. Guardians will get additional Primary Weapon damage as a bonus, though.

As always, this rotation of Destiny activities will last through the following Tuesday at approximately 5 a.m. ET / 2 a.m. PT. A new set of activities will launch then. Weekly Crucible bounties are dependent on completing the Crucible Quest Line given by Lord Shaxx.

Court of Oryx (Guide)

Tier 3: Balwur

Destiny Court of Oryx Balwur (PlayStation, Xbox)

The Wizard Balwur may be the easiest Tier 3 boss to appear in the Court of Oryx yet. The hook with her is that the floor of the court is covered in poison except for the area underneath the platform. Balwur spawns on top of the platform while Major Acolytes, Knights, and Thrall will spawn and move around the arena. The platform is poison free, but obviously dangerous because Balwur will shoot players and drop poison clouds.

Players will need to kill Major Acolytes to create poison free spaces outside of the safe zone underneath the platform for a period of time. Players can then move out from the underneath the platform, into the poison-free areas, and shoot Balwur. Repeat as many times as necessary to bring her down.
