Sheena Monnin, the former Miss Pennsylvania USA, caused a bit of a controversy earlier this week when she resigned her crown and claimed that the pageant was rigged. Donald Trump, who owns the pageant, said that he was going to sue Monnin for her slanderous comments.

But Ol’ Donald has a tender heart. Trump said that he wouldn’t sue Sheena Monnin if the former beauty pageant contestant wrote an apology within the next 24 hours.

Michael D. Cohen, who acts as special counsel to Trump, said:

“Donald Trump believes in giving everyone a second chance, including Ms. Sheena Monnin… Accordingly, if Ms. Monnin in a writing received by Mr. Trump within the next 24 hours apologizes and withdraws her utterly baseless claim that the Miss USA pageant results were predetermined, then and only then will Mr. Trump and the Miss USA Organization not proceed with litigation against Ms. Monnin seeking massive damages for her defamatory and offensive remarks.”

After failing to break into the top 15, Monnin wrote on Facebook that she was quitting the Miss Universe Pageant and was giving up her crown.

Monnin said:

“Effective immediately I have voluntarily, completely, and utterly removed myself from the Miss Universe Organization… In good conscience I can no longer be affiliated in any way with an organization I consider to be fraudulent, lacking in morals, inconsistent, and in many ways trashy.”

Monnin went on to say that she there were a “myriad” of reasons for her to quit. Among those reasons was the fact that Trump decided to allow Jenna Talackova, a transgender woman, to compete in the contest.

Monnin wrote:

“I refuse to be part of a pageant system that has so far and so completely removed itself from its foundational principles as to allow and support natural born males to compete in it. This goes against ever moral fiber of my being. I believe in integrity, high moral character, and fair play, none of which are part of this system any longer.”
