Britney Spears Busts Through Wardrobe Malfunction

Move over, Janet Jackson. Britney Spears had the next big wardrobe malfunction.

During Britney Spears’ October 16 performance for her Las Vegas residency Piece of Me, a closure on Spears’ black mesh unitard broke, exposing her bare back. That didn’t stop the songstress, however. Spears continued to perform while her backup dancers attempted to fix the zipper. After all, the show must go on.

By the end of her choreography for her 2009 hit single “3,” Spears’ back was almost completely exposed. Spears ran offstage when the house lights dimmed, but not before a fan had recorded the malfunction and uploaded it to YouTube.

By the way, if you feel like you’ve seen that costume before, chances are you have. Spears rocked this unitard during a performance of “Pretty Girls” with Iggy Azalea at the Billboard Music Awards in May.

Fortunately for Spears, wardrobe malfunctions don’t happen often–although this wasn’t the first for Spears.

Days after Spears kicked off her residency at The Axis at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino, the back of the sequined costume she was wearing during her performance of “Circus” flew open. Of course, a fan was sure to catch this as well.

In September, Spears announced that she was extending her residency in Sin City at the beginning of a performance.

“I have some big news tonight. Usually, I get you guys to help me count to three, but tonight I want you to help me count to two because I’m going to be in Vegas for two more years!”

Spears took to Instagram to post the 2016 schedule for her Piece of Me show, and talked to E! News about her decision to extend her residency through 2017.

“I’m not ready to leave Vegas yet! And I just really really love this show and this city,” she said. “I’m so proud of the show, and my band, my dancers and my crew have all become such a family to me. When it came down to me really having to make this decision, I just couldn’t imagine ending my residency at the end of this year.”

She also stated in the interview that there would be changes to the show.

“There are a few songs that are fan favorites that I really want to add to the show. It’s very exciting!” the queen of pop hinted. “If you haven’t seen the current show yet, you should come out before the end of the year.”

Aside from her spectacular performances, Spears has quite a few activities that she’s taking part in. In August, Spears won her eighth surfboard for the Teen Choice Awards; this year’s was the Candie’s Choice Style Icon award. Spears has also walked away with the Ultimate Teen Choice Award in 2009, which is the Teen Choice Award’s equivalent of a Lifetime Achievement Award.

More recently, Spears has been in the studio, recording her ninth album. Last year, when asked by On Demand Entertainment if her next album would be at all influenced by her breakup with David Lucado, Spears admitted it would, stating, “I think you take your experiences that you go through and definitely put it into your work. So, I’m gonna have a lot of ‘I hate men’ songs and then a lot of ‘I love men’ songs.”

The album is also rumored to include an Ace of Bass cover, keeping with Spears’ tradition of including a cover on her albums.
