Brooks Ayers Still Defending Himself Against Fake Cancer Accusations? ‘People Will Always Look For Reasons To Bring You Down’

Brooks Ayers continues to fight back against allegations of having faked his cancer diagnosis on Twitter. On October 18, ahead of tonight’s first part of the Real Housewives of Orange County Season 10 reunion, Brooks Ayers was faced with accusations of lying on the show, which he quickly denied.

Throughout the 10th season of The Real Housewives of Orange County, Brooks Ayers was accused of faking cancer by nearly all of his co-stars. Although then-girlfriend Vicki Gunvalson remained at his side and supportive, Meghan King Edmonds was active with allegations that he didn’t have cancer, and by the end of the season, she had everyone convinced of his rumored lies. Even Gunvalson’s one-time best friend Tamra Barney doesn’t think Brooks Ayers has cancer — despite having seen his alleged medical records.

During an interview with All Things Real Housewives last week, Barney confirmed she did not believe Brooks Ayers was suffering and accused Gunvalson of attempting to use her as a pawn to convince their co-stars that he really had cancer.

On August 16, Gunvalson and Brooks Ayer officially announced the end of their relationship with a joint statement on Facebook. Below is what the couple told fans at that time:

“After much prayer, thought, counseling, and consideration, we have decided to end our four year relationship. We both wish nothing but a great future for each other. We have come to realize that one can indeed love someone in their heart, but that the time may come for their lives to take separate paths. Though the remaining episodes of Season 10 of The Real Housewives of Orange County will show us as a couple, the filming took place in January 2015 through May 2015.”

Gunvalson and Brooks Ayers continued on, telling fans they would not be releasing any further statements or doing any further interviews in regard to the issue. Instead, they asked fans for privacy during what they said was a “difficult time.”

Months later, however, Brooks Ayers has had a change of heart, and during a two-part tell-all interview with E! News later tonight and continuing tomorrow, he is expected to speak of his relationship with Gunvalson, as well as their decision to seek therapy and their summer split. In a sneak peek at the interview, Brooks Ayers claims he and Gunvalson saw a “reality” counselor before calling it quits in July. He also said the moment they split “was like… the piano was lifted off my back.”

After splitting from Gunvalson over the summer, Brooks Ayers moved to Florida, but on-screen, he is still very much a part of Season 10.

Also during Brooks Ayers’ interview with E! News, he is expected to address his strained relationship with Briana Culberson, the daughter of Gunvalson. During The Real Housewives of Orange County, Culberson made it clear that she wasn’t a fan of Brooks Ayers or of his relationship with her mother, but according to Ayers, Culberson never gave him a real chance. Instead, he alleged her “daddy issues” became a problem for the both of them.

For more Brooks Ayers, tune into The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 10 reunion, starting tonight, October 19, at 9 p.m. on Bravo, and continuing for the next two weeks. In addition to his one-on-one interview with Andy Cohen, Brooks Ayers is expected to be a hot topic among the women.
