Lindsay Lohan Announces She’ll Run For President in 2020, Celebrates ‘Mean Girls Day’ With Throwback Photo [Video]

Lindsay Lohan for president? Just weeks after Kanye West declared he was going to run for president in 2020, Lindsay Lohan is ready to throw her hat in the ring, too, reports Us Weekly.

Lohan made her “announcement” over Instagram, as she shared a throwback photo of herself at the 2012 White House Correspondents’ Dinner. Lindsay was at the dinner as a guest of Greta Van Susteren, reports Us. Lohan, who is 29, won’t be old enough to run for president in 2020, however.

“In #2020 I may run for president,” Lindsay Lohan captioned the snap. Lindsay also thanked Kanye for “inspiring us to be better people,” and announced, “lets do this,” following her enthusiasm with a string of hashtags. Although Lohan did not indicate if she was serious about running for president, she followed up the first Instagram announcement with a second photo, this time a black-and-white pic of a blonde Lindsay with Kanye. Lindsay captioned the photo with an emotional promise that the “first thing I would like to do as president…is take care of all of the children suffering in the world.” Lohan explained, in the photo’s caption, that she learned how to manage the noble cause because “queenELIZABETH showed me how by having me in her country.”

Lindsay and the latest celebrity presidential bid announcement comes just weeks after Kanye West famously declared at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards that he would run for president of the United States in 2020. Kim Kardashian, his wife, seemed unaware of his plans, telling Ellen DeGeneres that his plan “was news to me,” explaining that it “wasn’t a discussion in our household. That’s a big thing to, you know, not talk to your wife about.”

Kardashian also believes her husband is “serious” about becoming the leader of the free world, but he would have to “make it to a second term,” because, according to Kardashian “he loves decorating,” reports Us. Lindsay Lohan fans are left wondering how the Mean Girls star would re-decorate the White House, and whether, like Kim, Lohan would “want to redo the whole White House, and we’re not going to be able to enjoy it.”

In the meantime, Lohan will just have to vote in the 2016 presidential election, and continue to party as normal. According to Just Jared, Lindsay Lohan was spotted on the streets of London, enjoying everything the United Kingdom has to offer.

As she strolled the streets with friend and socialite Hofit Golan, Lindsay looked stylish in a short dress topped by a black-and-white checked tweed coat. Lohan stopped to take photos with fans and sign autographs while she headed off to dinner with Golan, reports Just Jared.

Lohan also shared a selfie over Instagram with photographer Greg Williams. Although Lohan did not let on what the meeting was about, Lindsay did share that it was about “work and play,” which “makes a delightful day with @gregwilliamsphotography.”

Before making her presidential bid “announcement,” Lindsay Lohan celebrated “Mean Girls Day,” which happens every year on October 3, and this year was no different.

According to Entertainment Tonight, fans of the movie know that October 3 is the day “Aaron Samuels turned to Cady Heron in math class and asked for the date,” and have since honored the film on the specified date, with Mean Girls cast members, like Lohan, celebrating over social media.

On “Mean Girls Day” Lindsay Lohan kicked up her heels by sharing a throwback photo from her younger years. Lindsay reminded her fans that “[i]t’s October 3rd FYI,” captioning the the wide-eyed selfie with the hashtag #meangirlsday. Co-star Jonathan Bennett, who played opposite Lohan, tweeted that his “phone is blowing up” with friends celebrating the unofficial holiday, according to Entertainment Tonight.
