Lamar Odom Is Conscious, Speaking To Khloe Kardashian, Kris Jenner & Family Speak

Lamar Odom became responsive on Friday morning, and since then, the good news has continued to roll in.

On Tuesday, October 13, Lamar Odom was found unconscious at Dennis Hof’s Love Ranch in Pahrump, Nevada. According to a TMZ report at the time, Lamar Odom had been staying at the Love Ranch’s VIP Suite since Saturday, and partying with the women on site for days while using an herbal supplement for Viagra. On Tuesday afternoon, two women entered Lamar Odom’s suite, where they found the former professional athlete unconscious with mucus running out of his nose and mouth. Right away, a staffer called 911, and a short time later, paramedics arrived.

Once Lamar Odom arrived to a hospital nearby, doctors intubated the basketball player, which signified he could not breathe on his own. Although it was first reported that Lamar Odom was going to be airlifted from there to a second facility, his 6’10” frame restricted paramedics from doing so, and he was later taken, via a second ambulance, to the Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas for more treatment.

When Khloe Kardashian discovered news of her estranged husband’s hospitalization, she immediately boarded a private jet and flew to Las Vegas with her mother, Kris Jenner, and sister Kim Kardashian.

By the end of the night on Tuesday, Lamar Odom was said to be in critical condition with many of his vital organs, including his lungs and kidneys, failing, and for the next two days, things remained the same, which didn’t come as good news to doctors. Luckily, however, on Friday, Lamar Odom took a turn in a positive direction.

In the latest report, via Us Weekly, Lamar Odom is said to be “conscious.” According to the magazine, Lamar Odom has opened his eyes, and uttered, “Hey, baby” to Kardashian. He is also said to have squeezed the hand of his doctor before falling back to sleep.

Despite their troubled relationship in recent years since their 2013 split, Kardashian has been at Lamar Odom’s side since Tuesday, but her family, including Jenner and her sister, Kim, left Las Vegas on Friday.

In a statement to the magazine, Lamar Odom’s aunt, JaNean Mercer, said, “No words can express the overwhelming gratitude we feel for the outpouring of support from around the world.”

Mercer’s rep, Alvina Alson, added that Lamar Odom “gave a thumbs up to the doctors this morning and said a few words to them.”

Last night, according to an October 16 report by TMZ, it was noted that Lamar Odom’s doctors were attempting to wean him off life support. In the report, it was stated doctors felt doing so would encourage Lamar Odom to begin breathing on his own.

In response to Lamar Odom’s positive health update, several friends and family members have spoke out on social media.

Kris Jenner re-tweeted a message first shared by her sister, Cici, which read, “Mark 11:24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them,” the graphic read, alongside the caption: “#pleasepray #ourfighter.”

In the caption of the photo, Jenner told fans, “#pleasepray #ourfighter #RP @cicibussey ???#prayforlamar!!!”

Around the same time, as Us Weekly reported, Malika Haqq wrote, “Yes God!” and her twin sister, Khadijah, tweeted, “God is great and a Miracle worker, I’m a believer!!! #PrayersForLamar.”

In addition to having Kardashian at his side, Lamar Odom’s children, Destiny, 17, and Lamar Jr., 13, as well as their mother, Liza Morales, remain at the hospital.
