Khloe Kardashian Would Have Inherited Millions If Lamar Odom Died, But Doesn’t Care About The Money

Khloe Kardashian would have reportedly inherited millions of dollars if Lamar Odom had died of his recent drug overdose, but sources close to the reality star say she remained by his side through the ordeal out of love and didn’t care about his money.

Khloe rushed to a Las Vegas hospital after Odom was found unresponsive in a Nevada brothel this week. She has reportedly stayed there in the hospital, and because the two never finalized their divorce, she has been making medical decisions.

There were some reports that Khloe Kardashian could be angling for Lamar Odom’s fortune if he were to die, but TMZ Sports shot down those rumors.

“As we reported, Khloe and Lamar had a prenup, separating her money from his. Multiple sources familiar with the situation tell us Lamar does not have a will. Under the laws of California, if he were to die, Khloe would be entitled to 1/3 of Lamar’s personal fortune. His kids would get the remaining 2/3.”

“There’s no fighting it… the law is the law. We’re told Khloe doesn’t care about his money or want it, but the fact is, she’s still his wife and she gets 1/3.”

After a prognosis that initially looked very grim, Lamar Odom has shown signs of gradual improvement over the last day and is now reportedly awake again and responding, even talking to those around him.

A source close to the couple said Lamar Odom awoke on Friday and said “hi” to Khloe Kardashian. There were some mixed reports, including some that claimed Odom was in and out of consciousness, but the news appears positive and some of the former NBA player’s visitors struck a positive tone.

“He’s awake now,” said Jim Harrick, Odom’s coach at the University of Rhode Island, in an interview with CNN. “So that’s probably the most encouraging news we’ve had since it all started.”

Details are still being pieced together about the circumstances that led to Odom’s apparent overdose. He was found on Tuesday in his suite in Nevada’s Love Ranch, a brothel run by Dennis Hof.

Hof told HLN that Odom spent $75,000 over the course of three days, and employees told 911 dispatchers that he did cocaine on the day he arrived. Another source within the brothel claimed that Odom took 10 herbal Viagra supplements during the course of his stay.

There are signs that Khloe Kardashian could be growing even closer to Lamar Odom through the ordeal. The two shared a turbulent relationship, which played out in front of millions of viewers through Khloe’s reality show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

Khloe ended up splitting with Odom when he could not get his drinking and drug use under control, though there were reports from time to time that the two were working on reconciling.

That may be happening again. A source close to the family told Hollywood Life that Khloe Kardashian has grown close to Lamar Odom once again through the ordeal, and may now be considering calling off the divorce entirely.

“Look, it’s crossed her mind. The man she loves with every fiber of her soul is fighting for his life. Yes, of course she’s thought about calling the divorce off for a second, but then her focus went right back to him,” the source claimed.

But reports indicate that there is still a long road ahead for Lamar Odom, as doctors determine how much damage his likely stroke may have caused. But Khloe Kardashian is also remaining by his side, and sources told Hollywood Life that she plans to remain there during his recovery.
