Teresa Giudice Strip Searched Over Contraband Suspicion

Teresa Giudice is eager to get home to her family. Her lawyer suspects she will be released from prison on December 23, so she can spend the holidays with her family. But, it sounds like the guards at the jail do not believe that Giudice is acting as she should. Apparently, the tweets that her daughter Gia have been sending out on her behalf are causing some guards to think that she may have smuggled in a cell phone.

Of course, Teresa Giudice’s daughter, Gia, has revealed that she is indeed the one who has tweeted on behalf of her mother. Gia has access to her mother’s Twitter account and gladly posts a few things for her mother once in a while. But, the guards at the jail seem to think Teresa is the one posting them from behind bars. And that could only mean one thing: Teresa Giudice has a cell phone.

According to a new Radar Online report, Teresa Giudice was subject to a late-night strip search due to the belief that she was hiding a cell phone. Back in May, Gia wrote a tweet on her behalf. But, apparently, the guards were convinced that Teresa wrote the tweet herself.

“Thank you everyone for all of the cards, letters, and kind words of support. I love, love, love you all xo T!” the tweet read.

In the jail, Giudice does have unlimited access to e-mail, but there is no direct Internet access available.

Regarding the cellphone, it was believed that Teresa had broken the rules, so she could reach her fans and her children. And the jail staff decided to take action. This happened shortly after the post went live in May, but Giudice and her husband haven’t talked about the incident on The Real Housewives of New Jersey: Teresa Checks In.

“Prison officials descended into Teresa’s cell while she was sleeping. It was a full shakedown because guards believed she had a cell phone,” a source revealed, adding, “The cell was torn apart, as were the bunks of all of the other inmates. It was extremely scary for Teresa and she was also subjected to a full strip search, including the dreaded bending over and coughing.”

“Teresa explained to the guards that her daughter had posted to her Twitter account and after nothing was found, the ladies were left to clean up the mess. It was extremely scary for Teresa because she had never been in the crosshairs for discipline purposes since arriving,” the source continued, adding, “There have been other routine searches, but she had never been the focus. Anyone thinking Teresa is getting special treatment behind bars is absolutely wrong…she is treated just like everyone else.”

Of course, Giudice probably wouldn’t do anything to jeopardize her release date. She is working on getting out and spending time with her family. One can imagine that Giudice wouldn’t want to go back to jail for any reason, either. She has plenty of reasons to be excited about her release. Not only is Giudice planning on returning to The Real Housewives of New Jersey, but she has also written a book, which is scheduled to be released in February. Plus, she recently watched her own spin-off, Teresa Checks In.

“Teresa was joined by other inmates and she laughed and cried watching Joe, her kids and parents. She was so proud of Gia for being so mature and stepping up and Teresa was also impressed with Joe’s involvement with the girls,” the insider has previously revealed to NJ.com, adding, “The other inmates were clapping throughout the entire episode and Teresa really got a lot of support from the group. These women have become confidantes and sisters to Teresa, and without this sisterhood, she wouldn’t be able to get through the day.”
