Lamar Odom Reportedly Suffered Multiple Strokes Due To Deadly Drug Cocktail

NBA star Lamar Odom is still in critical condition after he was found unconscious and unresponsive at the Bunny Love Ranch on October 13.

According to Dr. John O’Dea, the basketball player’s condition is “not looking good.” Odom has suffered multiple strokes since he was brought to a hospital in Las Vegas, which, according to O’Dea, is not a good sign.

Odom reportedly suffered from a “lack of blood getting to a part of the brain,” which is commonly known as ischemic stroke. It poses a serious threat to the patient because the blood supplies oxygen to the brain and oxygen is needed for it to function, Dr. O’Dea explained to HollywoodLife.com.

It is also said that the former L.A. Laker is likely to have suffered brain damage. The doctors are reportedly considering the situation as a non-suicidal overdose. One possible reason behind the stoppage of blood flow to his brain is the deadly combination of drugs allegedly found in his system. “Using uppers and downers together is extremely dangerous,” Dr. O’Dea explained. “Crack causes irregular heartbeats and at the same time, the opiates suppress breathing.” “Uppers” and “downers” are substances that can speed up or slow down a person’s heartbeat.

According to a source, during his four-day drug binge, Odom was said to have done opiates, which are “downers,” and crack cocaine, an “upper,” as well as “every other drug imaginable.”

Another source told E! News that Odom had been partying since Friday and added, “he was doing crack cocaine all weekend and he choked on his mucous. They’re now having to fix all the damage it has done.” Dr. O’Dea explained mixing “uppers” and “downers” is called “speed-balling” and although it is a deadly combination, addicts like it “because it gives a very smooth high.”

“He doesn’t look like he’ll make it and if he does, he won’t be the same,” Brothel owner, Dennis Hof bleakly predicted.

Speaking to NBC News, he recalled Odom was fine Tuesday morning, but when two brothel staff members came to check on him at 3:30 p.m., Odom was already unconscious and reportedly foaming at the mouth.

Hof stated he did not see Odom take illegal drugs during his stay at the brothel but he claimed the athlete used a sex stimulant that was being sold in the establishment. Odom was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, and he is now on a ventilator.

It is still not clear when Odom will come out of his coma or whether he will ever wake up since the doctors have no idea of the degree of brain damage he has. “We don’t have enough information to know what the prognosis is and we don’t know how much he damaged the brain,” explained the doctor.

His chance of recovery is also pretty slim according to the doctor, “If he was down for long enough he will be gone, he’ll be in fruit and vegetable state.” Simply put, the chance Odom will come around from coma will depend on how long he was unconscious before receiving medical attention. It seems that the basketball star is going to be permanently in a vegetative state.

Odom has allegedly had multiple strokes since his admission to the hospital, which makes his situation even worse. “Having multiple strokes in the hospital is not good,” shared the doctor. “The more strokes you have, the more likely one of them could kill you. It’s not looking good.” Odom is also reportedly undergoing a 3-5 hour dialysis due to kidney failure.

Khloe Kardashian, Odom’s estranged wife, was reported to have rushed to Las Vegas to visit the athlete at the hospital as soon as she learned of the emergency.
