Taylor Swift Denies That ‘Bad Blood’ Is About Katy Perry
Ever since Taylor Swift’s hit song “Bad Blood” came out, fans have assumed that it is about Katy Perry. The two have been feuding for a while, and the lyrics to the song are the perfect fit. Taylor is known for writing songs about people and never sharing who they are really about. “Bad Blood” is another one of those songs.
Us Magazine shared that in a new GQ cover story, Taylor Swift is revealing all about this song, and she won’t admit that it is about Katy Perry no matter what people think when they hear it.
Taylor Swift was asked all about this song and if it was about Katy Perry. Everyone has thought that Swift was talking about Perry, but that has never been confirmed. Swift responded to the questions classy as always.
“You’re in a Rolling Stone interview, and the writer says, ‘Who is that song about? That sounds like a really intense moment from your life.’ And you sit there, and you know you’re on good terms with your ex-boyfriend, and you don’t want him—or his family—to think you’re firing shots at him. So you say, ‘That was about losing a friend.’ And that’s basically all you say.”

After that, Swift said she wants to make sure that everyone knows that she never named anyone in the song. If it was about Katy Perry, then Taylor Swift did a great job of never sharing that and, honestly, Swift never will admit to it either.
“I never said anything that would point a finger in the specific direction of one specific person, and I can sleep at night knowing that. I knew the song would be assigned to a person, and the easiest mark was someone who I didn’t want to be labeled with this song. I don’t necessarily care who people think it’s about. I just needed to divert them away from the easiest target. Listen to the song. It doesn’t point to any one person or any one situation.”
Everything about “Bad Blood” makes it sound like Taylor Swift wrote this song about Katy Perry, but you are never going to get her to admit to it. When the song first came out, Swift wasn’t denying it near as much as she is now. With all of her songs over the year, Taylor Swift has never been one to share which boy she wrote about, and this is no exception. In a few you can just tell, though, such as her hit song “Style.”

Taylor Swift revealed a lot more in her new interview with GQ. Swift talked about Kayne West and their relationship now. E! Online revealed that Taylor understands that it takes a lot to have a career in music and not just have a few hits here and there. Swift also talked about how she loves the fact that she is getting along with Kanye now.
“That was the most happenstance thing to ever happen in my career and to now be in a place where Kanye and I respect each other — that’s one of my favorite things that has happened in my career.”
Taylor Swift feels like she knows how to write a song. There may be some things that Swift isn’t great at, but writing a song is something she can do and never messes up on. Taylor is not very confident in other things in her life sometimes. Swift is doing great in her career right now.
