Angry Birds Space Phenomenon Smashes 100,000,000 Downloads in 76 Days

It’s The Avengers of the gaming world.

Yesterday, Finnish game company Rovio joyously announced that Angry Bird Space notched up than 100 million downloads in just 76 days.

The news came via a tweet – isn’t it always – proudly posted on the Angry Birds official Twitter.

The video-game that may reflect deep anger issues in its pig-smashing players is unfeasibly popular and shows no signs of slowing down.

Launched on March 22, 2012, Angry Birds Space is a straight-out-of-the-traps success story – leaping from 10 million downloads in its first three days to 20 million within one week.

More good news for Rovio came when the game surpassed 50 million downloads across iOS, Android, BlackBerry devices, Mac App and PC platforms in – get this – 35 days.

Clearly on a roll, last month Rovio’s Peter “Mighty Eagle” Vesterbacka said downloads of all Angry Birds titles actually exceeded 1 billion.

More titles in the rapidly expanding franchise are expected with Angry Birds Heikki winging its way to users some time this month.

I’m not a fan, but even I’m impressed.
