Khloe Kardashian Reportedly Making Life And Death Decisions At Lamar Odom’s Bedside

Khloe Kardashian is reportedly holding vigil at the hospital bedside of former NBA star Lamar Odom who remains in serious medical condition after being found unconscious in a Nevada brothel Tuesday afternoon, according to CNN.

Although Khloe and Lamar filed for divorce in 2013, they legally remain married as husband and wife, and she will reportedly be making life and death medical decisions for him; she’s been at his hospital bedside since Tuesday evening. Odom’s father and two sons are also with him.

New reports from brothel employees claim Odom was using cocaine as recently as Saturday, and the owner says he gave Lamar a bottle of herbal Viagra, according to CNN.

Odom was found unconscious by two women at the Love Ranch, a legal brothel in western Nevada, Tuesday afternoon, and was taken to the Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, according People. Odom reportedly went to sleep around 6 a.m. Tuesday and was found unconscious around 3 p.m.

“They told them to place him on his side, that’s when they saw a bunch of stuff coming out of his mouth.”

He is reported to be on a ventilator and has suffered at least one stroke, according to NBC News. Officials have obtained a blood sample and will be using it to test for cocaine and other drugs.

Odom arrived at the brothel Saturday and was described as somber and upset that people were bothering him. In a recent episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Khloe is seen taking a phone call from Lamar because he was upset a close friend of his had died.

Although Khloe isn’t posting any news about Lamar’s condition to social media, she has dropped everything to rush to his hospital bedside. The family was reported to have flown out in a private jet two hours after receiving the news.

Odom, now 35, won two NBA championships, in 2009 and 2010, playing as a forward for the Los Angeles Lakers. He married Khloe Kardashian in 2009 in an episode of the reality TV show Keeping Up With the Kardashians. The couple got their own reality TV show, Khloe & Lamar, with 20 episodes, which aired until they filed for divorce in 2013. They signed papers in July, but the divorce has not been finalized yet.

That means Khloe has the power to make medical life and death decisions about Lamar even if she’s not listed as next of kin.

The owner of the Love Ranch, Dennis Hof, told Good Day New York that Odom wasn’t drinking or doing drugs, but he did appear to be upset. He is reported to have taken an herbal supplement similar to Viagra that is sold at the brothel, according to NBC News.

“We never saw it. My staff told him: no drugs.”

Lamar began his professional basketball career with the Los Angeles Clippers in 1999 before moving to the Miami Heat. He was then traded to the Lakers where he helped the team claim two back-to-back championships in 2009 and 2010. He also played briefly for the Mavericks. Odom’s teammates are pulling for him to recover. Earvin Magic Johnson has posted several get-well tweets.

Khloe told E!, which airs the Keeping Up With The Kardashians, that she was still in love with her husband.

“I will never, ever not love Lamar. I was so obsessed with him in a healthy way. He was my husband, and I still wish he was.”
