With Star Wars Battlefront scheduled to launch just over a month from now, many gamers are now preparing to pre-purchase Electronic Arts’ upcoming reboot of the popular licensed franchise. In fact, following the close of the recent open beta event for Star Wars Battlefront that was held across all platforms, the game likely has plenty of new players with renewed interest in the game.
As with any major video game release, there are plenty of options for where to pre-order Star Wars Battlefront as several different retailers are enticing players to pick up the game by offering a variety of different pre-order bonuses. Fans might be thankful to learn that Star Wars Battlefront pre-orders won’t have any in-game exclusives that differ from retailer to retailer. Instead, the different pre-order bonus offers simply provide various discounts or minor physical additions.
Anyone who is already an Amazon Prime member should consider picking up their Star Wars Battlefront pre-order directly from the online retail giant. In a recent expansion to their subscription based service, Amazon is offering discounts on select video game pre-orders through Prime. This extra savings will give Amazon subscribers the chance to receive $10 off Star Wars Battlefront. However, users won’t be able to see the discount until after they have already added the game to their shopping cart.
“Members of Amazon Prime qualify for a lower price on this item when shipped and sold by Amazon. Add it to your cart and see the discount at the final check out page. Offer will be extended to all existing Prime member pre-orders.”
Meanwhile, Gamestop doesn’t exactly have as strong of an exclusive pre-order bonus that users might expect. The video game retail chain generally makes deals with publishers to secure exclusive digital content, but EA apparently wants consumers to have a more uniform pre-order experience regardless of where they decide to buy the game. As a result, those that pre-order Star Wars Battlefront from Gamestop will only receive a special two-sided poster.
Similar to the Amazon Prime discount, sever other retailers are also offering savings to reward members. Best Buy, for example, is offering an addition $10 in store credit as a bonus to pre-ordering Star Wars Battlefront.
The exclusive pre-order bonuses that are being offered by individual retailers are on top of the digital benefits that Electronic Arts is handing out to everyone that purchases an early copy of Star Wars Battlefront. In addition to a digital package of unique weapons and gear, anyone who pre-orders Star Wars Battlefront will also be entitled to download the game’s first DLC pack one week early.
“Pre-order Star War Battlefront and be among the first players to experience the Battle of Jakku, the pivotal moment when the New Republic confronted key Imperial holdouts on a remote desert planet. Taking place in the aftermath of the Rebel victory in the Battle of Endor, players will experience the events that created the massive, battle-scarred landscape of Jakku shown in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”
After keeping the recent Star Wars Battlefront beta open for an extra day, Electronic Arts announced that there were more than 9 million participants who downloaded the test across the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC. EA confirmed that this meant that more gamers logged on to try out Star Wars Battelfront than any other beta test in the publisher’s history.
“The Star Wars Battlefront beta surpassed a major milestone: more than nine million players logged in and played. That makes this the single largest beta in the history of EA. We could not be happier that so many of you wanted to come in to get a small taste of what our passionate team has been working on.”
