NFL Picks Week 6: Experts Pick Seattle Seahawks Over Carolina Panthers

NFL picks for Week 6 favor the Seattle Seahawks to beat the Carolina Panthers. The Week 6 NFL picks come from the football experts at CBS Sports, with the initial predictions unanimous in favor of the Seahawks. The home game on Sunday, October 18, is nearly a must-win for the two-time defending NFC champions. Having fallen to 2-3 in the latest NFL standings, the Seahawks have just about run out of time to make a move.

The Seattle vs. Carolina game is notable because the teams faced off in the 2015 NFL Playoffs. The Panthers now stand at 5-0 and share a lead of the NFC South with the 5-0 Atlanta Falcons. Cam Newton has his team playing extremely well, which will frustrate fans quite a bit when they see that all the CBS Sports experts are picking the Seahawks to win the game.

Colts Play Patriots In NFL Week 6.

Another interesting selection in these Week 6 NFL picks is that Jason La Confora has predicted that the Indianapolis Colts will beat the New England Patriots. He is the only analyst from CBS Sports favoring the Colts, possibly with the belief that Andrew Luck is going to return for the game. The Colts do get to play the game at home, but the struggling team has to take on an undefeated Patriots team firing on all cylinders. Through the first five weeks, La Confora is 48-29 in his predictions. That is tied for the second best mark among the CBS analysts.

As for the other undefeated teams, the experts predict the Green Bay Packers will beat the San Diego Chargers, the Denver Broncos will beat the Cleveland Browns, the Cincinnati Bengals will beat the Buffalo Bills, and the Atlanta Falcons will beat the New Orleans Saints. The picks aren’t all unanimous, though, with several analysts predicting upsets. Will Brinson has the Bills beating the Bengals, Dave Richard has the Saints beating the Falcons, and John Breech has the Browns beating the Broncos. Richard has the best prediction record thus far, going 50-27 through the first five weeks.

In the rest of the Sunday games from the Week 6 NFL schedule, the analysts have the Minnesota Vikings beating the Kansas City Chiefs, the Detroit Lions beating the Chicago Bears, the New York Jets beating the Washington Redskins, the Miami Dolphins beating the Tennessee Titans, the Arizona Cardinals beating the Pittsburgh Steelers, the San Francisco 49ers beating the Baltimore Ravens, and the Jacksonville Jaguars beating the Houston Texans. The night game is New England vs. Indianapolis, which serves as a re-match of the 2015 AFC title game. Monday night, October 19, the analysts have the New York Giants beating the Philadelphia Eagles.

The four teams with byes in Week 6 are the Dallas Cowboys, Oakland Raiders, St. Louis Rams, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the Cowboys will return in Week 7 with a new starting quarterback. That’s a lot of players getting the week off that will affect fantasy football owners, so it will be important to scour the waiver wire heading into the week’s games. All four teams need the time off to regroup for a second half push, with the season working against each of them to this point.

Big Ben Wants To Play Week 6 Against Cardinals.

One game worth keeping an eye on is the Pittsburgh vs. Arizona match-up. Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has stated that he wants to play in the Week 6 game, even though he hasn’t been cleared by team doctors yet. The Vegas oddsmakers have taken that game off the listings until it is determined whether Roethlisberger or Michael Vick will be starting at quarterback. The Week 6 NFL picks from the CBS experts have the potential to shift depending on injury reports, but look one-sided enough to remain the same when the games arrive.
