‘Halo 5’ Launch Playlists Announced Along With A Public Stats Interface

Developer 343 Industries continues to release new information about Halo 5: Guardians for the Xbox One. On the heels of an impressive launch trailer comes details on the multiplayer playlists that will be supported at launch, along with a public API to help the Halo community develop its own websites and apps to track multiplayer performance.

The Halo 5 multiplayer playlists come courtesy of IGN, who was given the scoop on what the game will start out with when it launches on October 27. Unsurprisingly, Warzone is present since it is the new multiplayer mode 343 Industries has been hyping the most, and with good reason. It is the big sandbox multiplayer mode with the ability to call in power weapons and vehicles as two teams of 12 players face off against one another and AI-controlled enemies.

Warzone is also where the new REQ system comes into play, supported by micro-transactions. You can check out a full explanation here, but the general idea is to provide blind packs of weapons and vehicles that can be called in for Warzone so that all future DLC maps are free.

Unfortunately, there are only six maps between the two playlists. Hopefully, 343 Industries will bring the promised free DLC maps online quickly post-launch.

Halo 5 Guardians (Xbox One)
There is a total of nine playlists scheduled for launch in all with classics such as SWAT and Slayer supported with the new “Team Arena” and “Breakout” playlists for competitive play. “Free for All” returns as well for those who prefer a solo challenge. There’s also a “Weekend Social” playlist that is based on a community vote of what to play.

As expected, Big Team Battle is not one of the modes listed for Halo 5’s launch. Developer 343 Industries is focusing on Warzone for now and plans to bring the classic mode back before the end of the year with its own set of maps.

All this Halo 5 multiplayer activity will be supported with a “fully-featured stats experience” on Halo Waypoint and the various Halo Channel apps. However, 343 Industries is also opening up access to stats from the game via the Halo API program.

The developer is currently working through a private beta with organizations such as the ESL, MLG, Halo Charts, and Halo Tracker so the Halo API will be ready when Halo 5 launches in two weeks. It will give access to life-to-date stats for each player, access to every match played, and a statistical breakdown for each player in a match. This will give community sites the opportunity to come up with their own ways to present and breakdown the stats from the Xbox One shooter.

That said, here is the complete Halo 5 multiplayer playlist along with the maps that will be supported in each:
