Parents Nick And Vanessa Lachey Suffer Fender Bender During Night Away From Kids

Nick Lachey and his wife of four years, Vanessa, like to go on dates regularly to keep the romance alive.

That’s what they were doing Saturday night when the couple was involved in a fender bender in an Uber car but emerged from the accident relatively unscathed, if a bit shaken up.

According to Bang Showbiz, Nick, 41, and his wife, 34, were on their way to a dinner date in Hollywood when the car they were traveling in hit another car. Apparently, the Lacheys chose a Halloween-themed night out at Universal Studios for last week’s date, tge New York Daily News added.

The collision didn’t end their night, either. Afterward, Mrs. Lachey shared a photo of her and Nick post-accident. Given that they have two small children, it’s no wonder they didn’t waste their night of fun.

It’s not clear exactly what happened or which car the couple were riding in when the accident occurred. Nick shared a photo of the damage on Instagram, which shows a white car with its hood crumpled under a black vehicle with a caved-in trunk.

Even though the accident was clearly minor and neither Lachey was apparently sent to the hospital to be treated for injuries, it clearly shook up the couple. And Nick’s photo came with a bit of advice for other drivers and passengers.

“A word of advice…..always wear your seatbelt when you @uber There is no such thing as a guaranteed safe ride. #datenight.”

That message was enough to send Lachey’s followers into a tailspin of panicked worry; the post was followed by a slew of concerned messages, prompting Nick to comfort fans with the news that both of them were just fine after their “little @uber accident.”

Nick and Vanessa have been married since 2011 and have two kids — Camden, 3, and Brooklyn, 10 months. According to the Daily Mail, Vanessa is a former Teen Miss USA and Nick, of course, used to be in the boy band 98 Degrees and is the former Mr. Jessica Simpson.

They met when Vanessa, then sporting the last name Minnillo, made an appearance in Lachey’s music video for his song “What’s Left of Me.” And the rest, as they say, is history.

Of course, Nick Lachey was famously married to Jessica, also a singer, for three years; the duo starred in their own reality show, Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica, and called it quits in 2005 after only three years of very public wedded bliss.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Lachey keep busy professional schedules in addition to raising two small children together, which is probably why Nick takes his main squeeze on regular romantic dates.

Nick hosts the VH1 show Morning Buzz and stars in another reality show with brother Drew — who also graduated from the class of 98 Degrees — on A&E called Lacheys Bar. The show follows the singing brothers as they launch a sports bar in Cincinnati, a lifelong dream for the pair.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Lachey is plenty busy herself. She is starring in a new NBC sitcom with Mark-Paul Gosselaar (Zack on Saved by the Bell), called Truth Be Told. The show premieres on October 16 and follows two “diverse” and outspoken couples.

With all that work to keep them busy, the pair seem to have their priorities in order by keeping the romance alive. Vanessa told E! Online that keeping the spark ignited is important, and that Nick is a wonderful father and husband.

“Oh absolutely, [Nick]’s the best. I 1,000 percent know I couldn’t have done this without him. And that’s why I married the guy. It’s a partnership, and when he’s busy in New York, I’m on mommy duty 100 percent and when he comes back, we share the duty, and when I’m doing stuff, he’s on daddy duty 100 percent. (It’s) just so comforting to have that support system.”
