Bindi Irwin Is Ready For Own TV Series After Second 10 On ‘Dancing With The Stars’

Bindi Irwin wowed the judges yet again on Dancing with the Stars, but the Wonder from Down Under is still going to have to step up her game next week — her competition got serious on switch-up night.

Bindi Irwin scored the first 10 of the season last Monday night after a series of superb performances, but right after her big breakthrough, she was forced to make a huge change that could have ended her forward momentum. Last night was switch-up night on Dancing with the Stars, so Bindi had to spend last week getting comfortable dancing with a new pro partner, resident bad boy Val Chmerkovskiy.

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Derek Hough actually thought that the switch-up would be good for Bindi. This is because he and Bindi emotionally exhausted themselves working on last week’s tribute dance for Bindi’s late father, Crocodile Hunter star Steve Irwin. However, Bindi wasn’t crying crocodile tears while she danced with Val Chermkovskiy — she lightened the mood by introducing him to a friendly anaconda and asking him if he’s ever seen a “blue booby” (it’s a type of bird). However, Val put the pressure on his new partner by telling her that they were going to attempt the most challenging cha-cha he’s ever done on Dancing with the Stars.

Maks Chmerkovskiy took advantage of his guest judging stint to award his younger bro with the first 10 of the night, but the number didn’t help Bindi Irwin pull away from the pack — 10’s fell like rain all night long, and Derek Hough betrayed Bindi by helping Alexa PenaVega earn the first perfect score of the season. Alexa’s husband, Carlos PenaVega, was close behind her with three 10’s.

No one was eliminated last night, and next week is Famous Dances week. This means Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough will have to give an iconic dance their own unique spin. Bindi obviously loves snakes, so maybe they’ll recreate Britney Spears’ 2001 MTV VMAs performance. Then again, that might be a bit too sexy for a 17-year-old.

Bindi Irwin might not Crocodile Rock away with the mirror ball trophy now that the competition has become so fierce, but her time on the ABC reality show could help her achieve one of her life goals. According to the Daily Mail, Bindi is hoping to take Hollywood by storm, and she’s even considering moving to Los Angeles to pursue a career in front of the camera. A source told New Idea that Bindi’s mother, Terri Irwin, believes that her daughter can score a role on a TV show.

“Terri’s looking for U.S. representation for Bindi in preparation for the big TV pilot audition season.”

Bindi is allegedly working on her American accent, and she’s planning on ditching her khaki outfits for a more glam, Hollywood-friendly look.

At least Bindi won’t have to work on getting comfortable in front of the camera. She started appearing on TV as a young child when her father took her along on some of his Crocodile Hunter adventures, and she went on to appear in the documentary series Bindi the Jungle Girl. She also starred in the movies Return to Nim’s Island and Free Willy: Escape from Pirate’s Cove.

Luckily for Bindi Irwin, she has a super supportive family and boyfriend. The 17-year-old’s mother and brother are always in the DWTS crowd cheering her on, and her boyfriend, 18-year-old Chandler Powell, doesn’t mind doing the long-distance thing. According to ETonline, he flew to Hollywood to watch his girlfriend compete on Dancing with the Stars a few weeks ago, but right now the professional wakeboarder and his ladylove are keeping in touch the good ol’ fashioned way.

“I am one of those old fashion people and I love to write,” Bindi revealed. “So, I write a lot. Like hand write letters. I write lots and lots of letters.”

If Bindi Irwin really does leave her home at the Australia zoo to move to Hollywood, she might wear out her wrist trying to keep Chandler Powell updated on her wild life.

Do you think Bindi Irwin has what it takes to be successful in Hollywood? And do you think the mirror ball trophy is slipping away from her now that so many of her DWTS competitors have stepped up their game? Sound off in the comments!
