Carey Mulligan And Marcus Mumford’s Baby: Carey Mulligan Reveals The Gender Of Her Baby

Carey Mulligan and Marcus Mumford have always been a very private couple, although the couple revealed in recent months that they were expecting a child. Now, Mulligan, who gave birth at some point, revealed her baby’s gender during an appearance on The Graham Norton Show. Mulligan was on the show to promote her film Suffragette.

During her appearance, she opened up about the sex of her baby. Mulligan gushed on the show, “It’s a girl!” Although Mulligan didn’t share any more details about her baby girl, she did show off her post-baby body while on the red carpet for the British Film Institute’s London Film Festival. The actress walked the red carpet to promote her film, which also stars Helena Bonham Carter, Meryl Steep, and Anne-Marie Duff.

At the time the news hit that Carey had given birth, a source close to the couple told Us Magazine about the new parents, “The baby is healthy. They have been loving being parents and their friends and family are thrilled.”

Another insider said of the couple, “They’re a great couple. Very sweet.”

The couple has been married since April 2012. The two exchanged vows in Somerset, England, after a year of being engaged.

Back in April, Carey briefly opened up about what marriage is like to Mumford and Sons lead singer Marcus Mumford during an interview with Vogue.

“Like anyone, you try and split your time evenly. Marcus is the only thing that’s mine that I can keep totally away, so I try to.”

As far as keeping her personal life private, Mulligan said, “I have always felt that the less people know about me, the better. The more similar you look job to job, the more they relate to you from your previous roles. That’s why I’ve done loads of really stupid things to my hair in the past to try to not look the same.”

Mulligan’s good friend Sienna Miller dished on the private couple’s marriage for the Vogue feature. At the time, she said that they have a lot in common, specifically because they come from good families and are on the same page about the specific life they want to live together. Putting emphasis on their normal life, Miller said that they have chickens, a dog, friends, and jams by a campfire. Despite their many accomplishments in their own careers, Sienna said that the two are very much low-key people who always come back to their farm with their “funny hats” and piglets.

Mulligan’s new movie Suffragette is getting a lot of attention. The film is about the early feminist movement and a group of working women who violently protected their rights and fought for their equality for their jobs, homes, children, and the right to vote. Mulligan plays Maud, a foot soldier who is a suffragette campaigner.

The writer of Suffragette is Abi Morgan, who also wrote The Iron Lady, a film that starred Meryl Streep. The actress went on to win a Best Actress Oscar for her role as Margaret Thatcher.

Recently director Sarah Gavron was honored with the Juice Award at the Hamptons International Film Festival. The award was given to the film’s director because she brought to life content that supports strong roles for women.

Carey Mulligan’s film, which has received plenty of Oscar buzz, opens with a limited released on October 23 in the United States.
