Britain’s Got Talent Winner 2009: Dance Troupe Diversity, Susan Boyle 2nd
The Britain’s Got Talent winner for 2009 is the dance Troupe, Diversity, with Susan Boyle coming in at second place in the talent competition.

The ten person dance troupe, Diversity, from Essex and London received the most public votes in the competition, beating Scottish singer and overwhelmingly noted favorite Susan Boyle who came in second place.
Diversity’s own choreographer, Ashley Banjo, was so shocked by the result, he said “When you said our name I thought I was dreaming. Everyone who has voted – you have changed our lives”.
The dance troupe Diversity have only been together since 2007 but with members aged 12-25 they wowed the Britain’s Got Talent judges with their flawless ‘transformer’ dance routine.
Susan Boyle’s Final Performance
In Susan Boyle’s final performance on the British talent competition, Britain’s Got Talent, she revisited the first song she performed on the show, I Dreamed a Dream, doing a flawless performance in a floor-length shimmery gown.

Absolutely fantastic – Diversity, although I was rooting for Susan Boyle the last few weeks, was definately the winner in this competition. I grew up with strret dancing in New York City back in the 60's – and this is the best of the best. Their synchronization is unchallenged. Ihope to see alot more of you – please come and perform in the States

There were some great acts on tonight, including amazing Susan Boyle, the brilliantly funny Stavros Flatley, the cute as a button Shaheen and sweet Julien, but for sheer electric excitement on the night Diversity were the worthy winners – as an added bonus 10 lives have been changed for the better, not just one.
(PS: appreciating street dancing isn't an age thing, I'm 51 and completely get it!)

ashley banjo the hottest man alive. i think im in love with him seriously. i voted five times becuase they were the clear winners of britains got talent this year. they represent equality amougst people and i think anyone slating them are just jealous to be honest

Diversity are THE most entertaining act I think I've ever seen – the rest didn't even come close. Good old Essex boys – love it! I'm so proud to be British!!! Can't wait to see them on tour!

When I first saw Diversity a couple of years ago, I was blown away by their performance as I was seeing them on 'Britain's Got Talent'. All their hard work and dedication has definately paid off. Such worthy winners, and such a lovely bunch of (Essex) boys.
