Hip hop is more than just music, it is a way of life that includes, clothes, language, and swagger. In recent years, old hip hop fans have complained that the music has changed, and that some of the new artists are not representative of what good hip hop should be. Newer hip hop musicians say that times have changed, and the music is reflective of that fact. Even still, hip hop continues to be bring in new fans each year from all over the world.

Despite it’s popularity, the naysayers believe that the hip hop industry as a whole brings about problems and chaos that does society no good. The recent arrest of rapper Scarface may be a good example of that. People Magazine announced that Scarface, whose real name is Brad Terrence Jordan, was picked up and thrown in jail by police just after picking up his I Am Hip Hop award, authorities say he was arrested for a child support contempt charge. Sources say, he was arrested with the I Am Hip Hop award in hand. Though, his arrest is disappointing to fans, his accomplishments in the industry can’t be overlooked. Here is how BET describes the Houston native’s rise to fame.

“Before he became a game-changing southern hip hop icon, Scarface was an up-and-coming rapper with dreams of representing Houston. But when the lyrically gifted emcee was asked to join Rap-A-Lot Records’ third incarnation of bruising local rhyme act the Geto Boys, it was a no-brainer. Scarface, Willie D and Bushwick Bill would go on to make rap history.”

Make sure to be seated in front of your televisions to see spellbinding performances and a colorful array of special effects at this star-studded event on Tuesday at 8/7 central on BET. Earlier this year, the Inquisitr reported on the 2015 BET Awards and the Triumph Awards.
