Bill O’Reilly Outshines Megyn Kelly In Cable News Ratings

Don’t believe the hype — Megyn Kelly is not catching up to Bill O’Reilly in the cable news ratings. Each week, she has been falling further and further behind. When averaging ratings for the previous week on Zap2It, Bill O’Reilly averaged 2.91 million viewers a night while Kelly averaged 2.33 million. Some believe Megyn Kelly is losing viewers because of constantly bashing Donald Trump, even though many of her viewers are big fans.

O’Reilly has been the king of ratings for years. This week, his biggest night was Tuesday with 2.96 million viewers and his lowest night was Thursday, with 2.82 million viewers. Megyn Kelly’s biggest night was Wednesday with 2.49 million viewers and her lowest was Thursday with 2.1 million viewers.

This past week, both Bill O’Reilly and Megyn Kelly extensively covered Obama’s visit to Roseburg, Oregon. On Wednesday evening, O’Reilly showed a video that quoted David Jaques, publisher of the Roseburg Beacon, speaking about Obama’s visit.

“He wants to come to our community and stand on the corpses of our loved ones to make some kind of a political point and it isn’t going to be well received. Not by our people, not by the families and not even by our elected officials.”

Bill O’Reilly had Chris Boice, the commissioner for Douglass County, on his show to speak about Obama’s visit.

“You know, I hope that’s the case, Bill. It’s difficult to judge one’s motives. The President has been very clear since the beginning of this that he has an agenda about gun control,” Boice said in response to Obama’s statement that there will be no politics in his visit; he just wants to visit friends and family.

Boice added that if the president is truly coming to visit the families, he will be welcomed with open arms.

On Tuesday evening, Megyn Kelly had Stacy Boylan, the father of Ana Boylan, a young woman who is recovering from a gunshot wound to her back after last week’s shootings. Mr. Boylan was not thrilled with Obama’s visit.

“Well, I do believe it was Rahm Emanuel [Obama’s former Chief of Staff] who said never let a good tragedy go to waste. And I really feel that his visit here is completely to support his gun control agenda.”

Kelly asked Boylan how he felt as a supporter of the second amendment.

“You know, my position on this is that, you know, gun-free zones are a problem. They’re an issue. They’re a target for crazy people because they know they’re not going to be met with resistance,” Mr. Boylan answered.

Boylan says he and his family will not be meeting with the president during his visit, especially because he feels that it’s all backed by an agenda. Boylan did speak about his daughter Ana’s condition.

“Ana is recovering from her physical wounds. We are now, you know, of course, dealing with, you know, the aftermath of all of this. The dust is starting to settle, but you know, there’s still a lot of interest in this event. And emotionally, she’s processing. And we’re just all being there to support her.”

Both Kelly and O’Reilly also covered Hillary Clinton’s emails as well as general violence across the United States. Watching either of the shows would make one think that the country is doomed. Did you watch Bill O’Reilly or Megyn Kelly on Fox News this week? Let us know in the comments section.
