Atlanta Falcons Rumors: Three NFL Teams Interested In Trading For Roddy White – Where Could He Land?

The Atlanta Falcons are 5-0 and sitting on top of the NFC South, but one of their longtime great players is not happy. Wide receiver Roddy White has started complaining about the Falcons’ offense, or more so, the lack of his involvement in it. With that, trade rumors have started popping up around the NFL, and it’s now being said that there are at least three teams interested in the Pro Bowl receiver.

On Sunday, an NFL report from Ian Rapoport came out and said that there are three teams showing interest in trading for Roddy White, and it’s possible that more could show their faces too.

If White continues with his frustration, it’s quite possible that one of the best wide receiver tandems in the NFL could be split up. White and Julio Jones have been looked at as one of the best pairs of targets in the NFL for the past few years, but injuries have forced them both to miss a good bit of time.

The Falcons have not touched on the possibility of White being traded, but his production is severely down this season. Add on top of that the fact that wide receiver Leonard Hankerson has picked up his game, and the Falcons may find White to be easily replaceable.

White recently told ESPN that he enjoys winning and truly wants a Super Bowl ring. The other big thing that he wants is to be involved and get some catches. Blocking and being a pick-man is not what he’s on the field to do.

“For me, at the end of the day, I want to catch passes. I’m not out here just f—–g around just to sit around to just block f—–g people all day. It’s not what I want to do.”

“I’ve contributed to offenses for this franchise for the last nine, 10 years. It always bothers me when I go out and don’t catch any balls in a game because it hasn’t happened in so long.”

Through four games, White, who is scheduled to make $3.7 million this season, is fifth on the team in receptions and yards. He has a mere six receptions with only 92 yards on 12 targets. Jones has 38 receptions for 478 yards, while Hankerson has 17 catches for 241 yards.

Against the New York Giants earlier this season, Roddy White went without a reception for the first time since 2006. A week later, the Falcons defeated the Dallas Cowboys and White went without a single reception again.

On Sunday, the Atlanta Falcons came back to take down the Washington Redskins 25-19 and stay undefeated. White had just two receptions for 23 yards in the victory. In Kyle Shanahan’s offense, White appears to be more of a blocker and it doesn’t seem as if he’s going to say much specifically to him.

“I just stay consistent. I just have to handle my business and what I can do; be the best football player I can be. He’s going to do what he has to do. He’s going to call the plays the he wants to play and how he wants to play it. Formations are made out how he wants to do it.”

“I just have to stick in there and bear with it; just continue to do my job. And hopefully, Matt [Ryan] will throw me some balls.”

Reports have not yet said which teams are interested in trading for Roddy White, but there are some out there who are desperately looking for wide receiver help. The Dallas Cowboys are one of those teams as they are still without Dez Bryant who is out with injury, but both Carolina and Baltimore need help as well.
