Randy Quaid And Wife Arrested Trying To Cross Back Into The U.S.

Randy Quaid has had a brush with the law now twice in one week. First, he was held and had a deportation hearing in Canada on Thursday, and now he has been arrested on the U.S. side of the border trying to sneak into Vermont unnoticed.

As the Inquisitr reported, Randy Quaid and his wife, Evi, have been living in Montreal after “escaping the United States” and seeking refuge in Canada after fear that the “star whackers” were out to get them in Hollywood. There are several warrants out for their arrests in California, which is perhaps why they were trying to sneak into Vermont rather than waiting to be handed over to U.S. authorities after being deported. Strangely, neither Canada nor the United States have ordered a mental health evaluation. Since Randy Quaid was picked up earlier this week by Canadian authorities, his wife Evi has gone on a tear, tweeting about her dissatisfaction with both governments, claiming Quaid’s native status.

“They arrest Randy Quaid because he is something like 20% Indian and can live any place he wants”

She is also calling out authorities in both countries, and trying to get in touch with Rupert Murdoch.

“Canada can not deport an Indian Morons they just Bogus arrest them”

Neither Quaid is helping their cause by putting their rants in writing.

TMZ reports that both Randy and Evi Quaid were arrested last night after their plan of a dark night border crossing was foiled.

“Their re-entry plan foiled, Immigration authorities in Vermont are now holding them on $500k bond. It appears California will try and extradite them for prosecution on the burglary.”

The couple allegedly were trying to sneak out of Canada ahead of their deportation, which was to take place on October 14.

Fox News says that Quaid was arrested at the Highgate Springs, Vermont, port of entry. Evi Quaid had been granted citizenship in Canada due to the fact that her father was Canadian, but Randy Quaid had been denied due to his felony warrant status in the United States.

“U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents detained the Quaids at the Vermont port of entry at about 8 p.m. Friday after determining they were fugitives from justice and subject to extradition, State Police said. They were taken into custody by troopers, and a judge set bail at $500,000 each. Randy Quaid was being held at the North West State Correctional Center and Evi Quaid at the Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility.”

The Quaids are still holding fast to the assertion that they are in danger of being killed in a hit. Randy Quaid says that his friends Heath Ledger and David Carradine were both killed by the “star whackers.” Ledger died of a drug overdose, and Carradine was found dead in a hotel room with a rope over his neck due to autoerotic asphyxiation. Considering that Quaid has not made a movie in years, he is hardly on the top 100 list of Hollywood stars.

The Daily Mail is reporting that after Thursday’s deportation hearing, Quaid was released and considered not a flight risk, even though the couple had skipped out on several hearings previously. Evi Quaid has been ranting since her husband’s arrest about everyone from John Kerry to Barack Obama.

Attempts to reach current legal representation for either Quaid has been unsuccessful thus far.

Do you think the Quaids are mentally ill, or just criminals?
