Drake And Serena Williams Engagement, What’s The True Relationship Between This Powerhouse Duo?

Serena Williams has been spotted on numerous occasions not only with superstar, Canadian-born rapper Drake, but has also been caught in some PDA scenarios while in his company. Rumors are flying that the two are so smitten with one another that Drake has even popped the question to the Wimbledon champ.

Events leading up to this speculation and new report involved a sighting of the couple back in August, during which Drake and Serena were cuddling and smooching at a Cincinnati restaurant. Following the sighting, Drake made an appearance at one of Serena’s US Open matches, during which he cheered and rooted for her from the stands. Additionally, Drake was able to score front row seats next to Anna Wintour of Vogue, in order to be front and center for Serena’s HSN fashion show at New York Fashion Week last month.

However, it was only this past week that the wedding rumors started to make the rounds after sources began claiming that Drake popped the question to Serena while in his hometown of Toronto. The source that began the whirlwind of media rumors about the pair, was one who chatted with OK! Magazine and claimed Drake got down on one knee for the tennis star, telling the publication, “She said yes but they want to keep it on the down-low for now.”

The news of a possible engagement was obviously a sizable surprise to fans and onlookers of the pair, considering the romantic sightings of Drake and Serena only began three months ago. As it turns out, there really is no need for congratulations or to wonder what sort of dress Serena may wear on her big day, as the claims have been stamped out as untrue.

ET Canada has relayed both the story and the facts about this celebrity pair.

“While neither Drake nor Williams have confirmed a relationship, there has been mounting evidence that the two are an item. A source tells ET Canada that reports the Toronto-born rapper popped the question to the tennis star are ‘completely and utterly untrue.'”

While Drake has stepped out to support Serena in her efforts and important matches, Serena has likewise demonstrated support for the rapper by showing up to help celebrate with him on the day of his new Toronto restaurant opening.

Fashion Magazine expands as to the expected cuisine and vibe of Drake’s new dinning locale, named Frings.

“Drake’s new restaurant is a partnership with renowned chef and Top Chef Masters finalist, Susur Lee. The menu will feature Asian hints as per Lee’s signature, mixed with high-end snacks.”

Williams was at the opening, along with Jaden Smith, for the big reveal. Another important lady in attendance at the restaurant launch was, of course, Drake’s mother, Sandi Graham. Drake took to Instagram to share a picture of him and his mother at the big event. The rapper fittingly captioned the adorable image.

“In the cut with my one and only.”

The 28-year-old Drake and the 33-year-old tennis super star seem to be doing their best to stay connected by making it out to the important events in each other’s lives; however, sources claim that it has been tricky for Drake and Serena to truly make time in order to spark a true relationship. As it stands, it appears that Drake’s mama remains the only leading lady in his life, despite the fact that Serena and Drake have been causing speculation even as far back as 2011, as The Mirror UK reminds. We’ll have to wait and see how close their busy schedules and demanding careers will allow them to become.
