WWE News: WWE Planning For Roman Reigns To Win WWE World Heavyweight Championship At ‘WrestleMania 32’

WWE Superstar Roman Reigns has been working his way up in the singles world for over a year now. Last year during the summer, we all found out that he was the one being picked to win the Royal Rumble and would go on to be in the main event of WrestleMania 31. Fans around the world were, on the whole, not supportive of the storyline, but WWE didn’t want to listen to the paying customers. Finally, on the day of WrestleMania, Vince McMahon made the decision to have Seth Rollins cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase and win the WWE World Heavyweight Title in the main event of the company’s biggest show.

Seth Rollins has held the title ever since.

There are some who speculate that Seth Rollins could hold onto the WWE World Heavyweight Title until WrestleMania next year. He will be the first man since “Macho Man” Randy Savage in 1988 to have a year long reign the first time a wrestler wins the World Title if WWE decides to go this direction. WWE contemplated removing the title from Rollins on several occasions, but it seems that the company wants to continue to build him up. However, they also want to build Roman Reigns, as well.

According to Cageside Seats, WWE is planning to put Roman Reigns back in the main event of WrestleMania. The plan is for him to win his first WWE World Heavyweight Championship there. This does not automatically mean Roman Reigns will win the Royal Rumble to gain another title shot at WrestleMania 32 or defeat a ring full of superstars in the stunning fashion he did last year. WWE could always have a last minute change of plan exactly as they did at WrestleMania 31.

Rollins Reigns

We certainly may end up with a very interesting main event.

While Seth Rollins may be the likely candidate to face Reigns for the WWE World Title at WrestleMania, there are some who believe that WWE is considering an all-Shield main event.

The rumored idea is that WWE will push Dean Ambrose into winning the Royal Rumble, sealing his fate as a future WrestleMania main eventer. Reigns will then take on Rollins at WWE Fast Lane, if that PPV 1name is still in use and the event has not been renamed. A controversy would ensue causing a triple threat match for the WWE World Heavyweight Title at WrestleMania 32.

While this is ONLY a rumor, it does make more sense than many of the names being floated for a Wrestlemania 32 title match. WWE wants to build all three men. Whether Dean Ambrose wins the WWE World Title here or not, he is main eventing a WrestleMania, something most WWE Superstars have dreamed about since childhood. While WWE wants to build up Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins and has given them regular opportunities to continue performing in a main event role, fans want to see Ambrose in the title hunt.

Ambrose gold

WWE gave him chances to win over the summer and he came within a heartbeat and bad ref call from winning the WWE World Title in each of those encounters. He also is the best opponent Seth Rollins has ever worked with in WWE. A Shield triple threat surely would get people talking and few would complain about such an event occurring, especially knowing the history of all three men.

Roman Reigns has continued to improve in the ring, and he has earned his way back to the main event scene with his great work over the last year against various people. The rivalry with Bray Wyatt has only helped Reigns look better. It is far better for him to work with people like this than a Kane or Big Show who don’t help anyone look like a good ring technician. At a time when Roman Reigns had to prove himself as a good wrestler, WWE couldn’t give him two older vets, who can barely still go, the job of making him look “really, really strong.”

Since fans are now behind Roman Reigns more than ever, it makes sense for him to be in this position. Whether or not WWE continues down this path is not yet known, but it seems like the case from all reports regarding WrestleMania 32.
